Samsung Mesmerize Review - PCWorld

Another in the ever-growing line of Galaxy S phones, the Samsung Mesmerize on U.S. Cellular ($200 with a new two-year contract; existing customers don't need to sign a new contract to get same price) is a great addition to the Galaxy line, and to the...

Fast and responsive user interface

Camera zoom is awkward to use

The Samsung Mesmerize packs power and a brilliant screen in a sleek and stylish design.

Samsung Mesmerize (US Cellular)

Like the Fascinate, the Mesmerize is a very good voice phone. It's nice and loud, and voices sound clear. The speakerphone is of a decent volume. Transmissions sound good; there's a bit of background noise, but voices come through clearly. You get a...

Fast. Brilliant screen. Very good camera and video playback

Voice dialing not very accurate. U.S. Cellular only in 26 states

The Mesmerize, Samsung's Galaxy S phone for U.S. Cellular, is the carrier's top smartphone.

The Samsung Mesmerize boasts a beautiful Super AMOLED touch screen and a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. The smartphone's 5-megapixel camera takes excellent photos and video.

Call quality could be slightly better. The phone feels a bit slick.

The Samsung Mesmerize is a top-notch smartphone for U.S. Cellular customers, offering a brilliant touch screen, speed, and plenty of features.

Samsung Fascinate Review: Verizon's Galaxy S Smartphone

Samsung has a Galaxy S device on basically every major carrier in the US. T-Mobile has the Vibrant, AT&T has the Captivate, Sprint has the Epic 4G, and Verizon has the Fascinate. Each variety is the same at the core, but with subtly different extras.

Samsung Fascinate

If Apple plans on getting the iPhone to Verizon, it had better hurry up, because the competition in the superphone category is heating up. The Droid X already provides daunting competition, but now Verizon has added another Android heavyweight, the...

Bright, colorful, glossy 4-inch AMOLED screen ; Excellent battery life ; 5-megapixel camera/720p HD video recorder ; 16GB microSD card pre-installed ; Lightweight; uncluttered exterior

Touch controls backlighting out-of-sync with screen ; Inconsistent network connectivity ; No front-facing camera ; Lock/hold switch in camera mode ; Only 2GB built-in memory

Samsung’s Galaxy S Fascinate holds its own alongside the popular Droid X, leaving room for both superphones on the nation’s largest wireless carrier.

Samsung Fascinate

At last, a Samsung Galaxy S Android phone, the Fascinate, has come to Verizon ($200 with a two-year contract from Verizon; price as of September 8, 2010). Like the other phones in the Galaxy S series (the Epic 4G, Captivate, and Vibrant), the Fascinate...

Intuitive user interface ; Gorgeous Super AMOLED display

GPS isn't always accurate ; Search is restricted to Bing

With its user-friendly interface and elegant design, the Samsung Fascinate is a strong addition to Verizon's growing portfolio of Android superphones.

Samsung Fascinate (Verizon Wireless)

While this Galaxy S phone beats some of its brothers on features, Verizon went a little too far in "customizing" the Android experience.

Verizon Wireless customers looking for a great Android phone have a tough decision to make. Should they get the big and fast (and long-lasting) Droid X, the Droid 2 with its improved keyboard, or the Droid Incredible because of HTC's great Sense...

Samsung Fascinate (black, Verizon Wireless)

As Samsung's Galaxy S devices have hit T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint, Verizon Wireless customers have had to stand idly by waiting for their turn at the company's new Android phones. That time has finally come. The Samsung Fascinate will be available...

The Samsung Fascinate offers a gorgeous Super AMOLED touch screen, a 1GHz processor, and a great multimedia experience. The smartphone can be used as a mobile hot spot

GPS positioning isn't always accurate. For now, you can't save apps to an SD card or voice dial over Bluetooth. Search is locked to Bing

Sleek and powerful, the Samsung Fascinate is another strong addition to Verizon's Android lineup. Its user interface won't appeal to everyone, particularly seasoned Android users, but it's a good smartphone for the masses.

Samsung Fascinate Review

By now, you wouldn't think there was much left in the Samsung Galaxy S family that could still surprise us. After the success of the original European model, followed by launches on AT&T and T-Mobile, the Super AMOLED Android smartphone is now heading...

With Android 2.2 – which Samsung claims is due later in 2010 – the Verizon Fascinate will get even faster, but we don’t feel the need to hold off until the new ROM is released. This is one of the best Android smartphones we’ve tested, and certainly the...

Samsung Fascinate (Verizon Wireless)

The Fascinate makes calls and connects to the Internet via Verizon's CDMA EVDO Rev A network here in the U.S. It's a good voice phone, with similar reception to the Droid X, although it sometimes over-reported its signal slightly (displaying one bar...

Beautiful screen. Slim and light. Fast processor. Loud speakerphone

Inaccurate voice dialing. Poor microphone noise cancellation

Sized in between the Motorola Droid X and HTC Droid Incredible, the Samsung Fascinate will feel just right for many Verizon smartphone shoppers.
