T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

Great keyboard ; Clear phone calls, useful text apps ; Satisfying screen “kick ; Inexpensive

Outdated Android 2.2 install ; Custom user interface doesn't enhance Android ; Awkward button, audio jack placement ; Anemic camera ; Poor 4G speeds ; Unnecessary touch pad

All in all, while we like the screen and keyboard, the Sidekick 4G tries too hard to be different.

Sidekick 4G review

It's been nearly two years since we last reviewed a T-Mobile Sidekick, and it would be a vast understatement to say things have changed. Then, they were

Stylish design ; Great QWERTY keyboard ; Fantastic value for the price

Smallish screen ; Social networking integration is flawed ; Slightly slower than Galaxy S handsets

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G (pearl magenta)

T-Mobile Sidekick users were probably a bit stunned when it was announced that data service for the popular messaging handheld would cease on May 31. Though the interruption of service is certainly inconvenient, it doesn't mean the end of the...

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G impresses with the addition of a touch screen and the Android operating system. The handheld also offers enhanced messaging features, great call quality, and a good camera

The user interface won't appeal to everyone. The smartphone can occasionally be sluggish

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G continues the Sidekick's legacy as an excellent messaging device and also serves as a great entry-level smartphone.

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

It's baaack. The T-Mobile Sidekick has returned (It00 with a two-year contract from T-Mobile; available April 20, 2011), and this time it has 4G speeds. As a former Sidekick LX user (and honestly, I kind of miss good physical keyboards), I was excited...

Superb keyboard ; Excellent messaging features

Design is a bit on the heavy and chunky side ; Camera is just average

The Sidekick might not have the specs to compete with some of the high-end super smartphones out there, but it is excellent for social networkers or first-time smartphone owners.

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

Throw away everything you already know about the Sidekick. The old Sidekicks were generally made by Sharp; they ran a unique OS designed by Danger that mirrored everything you did onto the Web. And they had their own service plans. The new Sidekick is...

Excellent keyboard. Fast Internet. Well-built hardware. Unusual, great-looking UI design

Awkwardly placed Power and Volume buttons. Some glitches in the setup app. Strong design flavor not for everyone

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G is a terrific messaging smartphone with a very strong, unique design viewpoint.

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G has a lot to offer including the Android OS in a fairly compact package.

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Review

Believed at one point to be utterly annihilated from existence, which blackened its reputation somewhat with the mini meltdown that occurred back in late 2009, the lovable Sidekick line is alive and beating once again. Still placing its emphasis on the...

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Review

In this review of the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G, we test the more grown up version of T-Mobile Sidekick. It runs Android, can run on 4G, and is a lot more powerful than any

Great keyboard ; Fantastic battery life ; Very solid build quality with nice hardware keyboard

Camera issues ; Some built-in apps are buggy ; No flash

While we were slightly disappointed with the lack of flash and the 3MP camera, overall the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G has been a stellar addition to the Android line-up. The battery life alone made us wistfully look at our daily drivers and ponder why...

Review: T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

Less than a year ago, T-Mobile seemingly killed the iconic Sidekick brand when it announced that sales of all Sidekick devices would cease on July 2nd, 2010.

Review: T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Android smartphone review

The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G is the first Sidekick that's a proper smartphone. Running Android 2.2 Froyo, the Sidekick 4G offers a mix of old-school messaging goodness and modern smartphone functionality - all backed up by solid hardware and a large QWERTY...

Great keyboard, snappy response, good battery life

Mediocre camera, odd button layout

Around back we find the 3 megapixel camera and a loudspeaker. The camera does not have a flash and was frequently obscured by our left fingers when we were shooting pictures. Rounding out the rest of the phone's hardware is a dedicated camera key, a...
