We applaud LG for pushing design boundaries with a see-though keypad for the Crystal. The device handles tasks such as music and videos well, but we'd like to see LG iron out some kinks in the user experience in future iterations of the software.
Stylish design ; solid build quality despite plastic materials ; generous 1.5GB onboard memory with additional microSD card slot ; wireless features include Wi-Fi, HSDPA and Bluetooth stereo
Fingerprint magnet ; occasional clumsy interface ; Web browsing experience could be better ; lacks built-in GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack ; poor picture quality
The power button sits at the top of the phone and doubles as a screen lock. The camera shutter is along the middle on the right edge so when you slide open the handset to activate the camera, it's easily reachable. On the other end, our left index ...

The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 is a sleek entry-level smartphone that delivers some nice design enhancements and great performance.
Responsive optical trackpad and dedicated media controls ; Wi-Fi ; Bluetooth ; 2-megapixel camera ; good call quality
Lacks 3G support and GPS ; downloaded apps can be saved to the phone's main memory only
The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 shares a similar look to the BlackBerry Curve 8900 but also offers a couple of new design elements

The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is significantly cheaper than most other touchscreen handsets on the market. While it's nowhere near as slick as the iPhone or HTC Hero, we still reckon it offers a good user experience for the price.
Good sound quality ; low price tag ; Wi-Fi
Small, resistive touchscreen ; poor camera ; no 3G
. Both of those handsets were at aimed at the premium end of the market, but its latest touchscreen phone is a much more affordable affair. To get the price down, though, Nokia has had to make some significant compromises

The Sony Ericsson C903 Cyber-shot blew our minds with its excellent photo quality. Its plasticky body and lack of Wi-Fi connectivity reflect its low price, but it performs like a more expensive model.
Excellent camera ; inexpensive ; easy to use ; expandable memory ; HSPA connectivity ; FM radio ; GPS
Shutter lag ; no Memory Stick Micro M2 card included ; no standard headphone jack or adaptor ; slightly cheap-looking ; no Wi-Fi
The back of the C903 looks remarkably like a compact camera, albeit a tiny, phone-sized one. On one side, the C903 is a normal-looking slider phone, but, on the other side, its full-length, sliding lens cover reveals a 5-megapixel snapper with a two ...

If you're on a tight budget and you love the idea of having a touchscreen phone, the LG Cookie is definitely an option. Having spent some quality time with it, our only concern is it doesn't offer enough features that stand out from the crowd. While ...
Slim design ; good photo viewer
Lack of 3G ; lack of 3.5mm headphone jack
Pitched as LG's most affordable touchscreen phone yet, the KP500 is also one of its most attractive. A slim, matte black casing houses a large touchscreen and a discreet 3-megapixel camera, on the back. It's understated and smart-looking--more VW than ...

Call us shallow but we like the little T707 for its body, not for its brains. This sexy handset is great at the basics, but lacks any techy extras.
Sexy design ; nifty external light notifications ; well-spaced keypad ; good basic calling and messaging
No 3.5mm adapter ; no Wi-Fi or GPS ; poorly positioned charging socket ; RRP is overpriced
Our review unit doesn't break from the popular glossy black finish of many new mobiles--others available feature electric pink and blues--but its strengths definitely lie in its design, especially on the top half of its slick chassis. Without power ...

The G60 is special because of its focus on navigation, something it does well. Other phone features need improvement, but unfortunately, that may not happen because this handset OS will be the last of its kind.
Strong GPS features ; large non-reflective touchscreen display ; comprehensive car kit with charger ; bundled local maps
Rudimentary phone features ; no MMS ; no copy and paste ; no third-party applications ; poor portrait-mode onscreen keyboard ; needs Home button

Nokia 6700 classic - The 6700 classic is all about being chic, feature-packed and affordable.
Stainless steel finish ; 5-megapixel camera ; HSDPA connectivity up to 10MBps ; full HTML browser
Keypad hard to use ; no dedicated audio port ; low-resolution screen not good for Web surfing
In the hands, the 6700 classic is heavier than it looks, adding to the solid feel. The device's actual weight is 113g, so it won't be too much of a burden to anyone whether in jeans pockets or handbags. Additionally, it is quite compact at 109.8 x 45 ...
