Asus ZenFone 2 Laser ZE551KL (Unlocked)

The unlocked Asus ZenFone 2 Laser offers a solid mix of performance, camera quality, and battery life for a good price.

Affordable. Removable battery. Expandable memory. Dual SIM slots. Good camera performance.

Dim display. Lots of bloatware.

Software and Conclusions The Laser runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, but Asus has made some pretty extensive changes to the UI. There are many modifications to the settings menu, and some of the features seem a bit dubious. For instance, the task killer app...

Review: Asus Zenfone 2

The newest massive Android phablet from Chinese manufacturer Asus takes the idea of a "computer in your pocket" quite seriously.

Snappy and rare high-end Intel processors and plenty of RAM. Handy gestures can launch specific apps from standby. Fully customizable skin. Ultra-cheap, considering what you get. Comes with 5GB of free cloud storage forever, and 100GB of Google Drive...

Large bezels, poor choice of materials, and too large of a body. So much plastic! Heavy, hard to work with one hand. Capacitive buttons are not illuminated. Comes with a ton of redundant apps that are a chore to get rid of

Asus ZenFone 2 review: Don't judge this phone by its cover

It may look bulky and cheap on the outside, but its 1080p screen, generous storage options, and solid performance is worth its $300 price tag.

Generous amount of storage offered—64GB in addition to a MicroSD expansion slot ; The UIs native theming capabilities are seriously so cool

Too. Much. Bloatware ; It isn't the prettiest phone on the block, but it will do

If you're looking for something a little more powerful than the Moto G with a slightly better camera, the ZenFone 2 is worth considering.

Asus ZenFone 2 review

Can a $300 smartphone stand up with the best Android devices out there from heavyweights like Samsung, LG, and HTC? That's what Asus is trying to answer with the ZenFone 2. It's not alone either —...

Appealing low price ; Fast, lag-free performance ; Asus' software allows deep customization

Disgusting amount of bloatware ; Camera falls apart outside of ideal conditions ; Generic design with bad button layout

Asus ZenFone 2 (Unlocked)

The Asus ZenFone 2 is the most powerful smartphone you can get for $299, but it isn't the most aesthetically appealing one.

Amazingly fast and powerful for the price. Good camera. Dual SIMs. Lots of memory.

Big and heavy. Dim screen. Heavy Android skin. Too much bloatware.

Comparisons and Conclusions The Asus ZenFone 2 is, by far, the most powerful phone you can get for $299 unlocked. Its camera, especially, puts the Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 and the OnePlus One to shame. The 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM for multitasking,...

Asus ZenFone 2 5.5in, 64GB, 4GB RAM

There is a cheaper 2GB version of the phone retailing for $199 (converting to £127 and AU$249); however, since we've as of yet spent no time with the 2GB version, we can't yet say how it performs compared to the its 4GB sibling. Both versions of the...

The Asus ZenFone 2 delivers smooth performance, an impressive low-light camera, and has a clean feature-rich UI. The 5.5-inch screen is sharp and bright.

The phone has a cheap bulky feel and an unintuitive button layout. Its non-swappable battery delivers only decent life. The price is too high for its above-average capabilities.

The Asus ZenFone 2 is too expensive for its above-average ability, but if the price agrees with you, the smooth performance and splendid low-light camera won't disappoint.

Asus ZenFone 2 review: Is Asus and Intel's sophomore ZenFone 2 ready to take on flagship phones?

The second-generation Asus ZenFone attempts to strike the right balance between performance, design and price.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 Review

When I think about ASUS, the first thing that comes to mind are their PC components like motherboards, GPUs and the like. I also think of their desktop and laptop computers. Part of that is probably due to my longstanding interest in PCs and PC gaming,...

To wrap things up, I'll say that I think the ZenFone 2 is now the device to beat at both of its price points. I think most users who are interested in a phone like the ZenFone 2 will opt for the $199 model, but the $299 model also presents a great...

The ASUS ZenFone 2 Preview

ASUS is not new to the smartphone market. Since the days of Windows Mobile (not the new Windows Mobile) they've been selling smartphones. But when it comes to Android devices they've been primarily focused on tablets. ASUS worked with Google to design...

Depending on which model you get, the ZenFone 2 will come with either Intel's Atom Z3560 or Atom Z3580 SoC. The former has a max boost clock of 1.8GHz, while the latter has a max of 2.33GHz. It's also important to note that the more expensive model...

Review: ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser

ASUS has introduced a new variant of the ZenFone 2, which we reviewed earlier this year. This new variant is called the ZenFone 2 Laser, and it comes with a modest $199 USD starting price, shaving $30 or more off the ZenFone 2's price tag. The Laser...

The ZenFone 2 Laser is, in mostly every way, the same as the ZenFone 2. The differences lie under the hood, which translates into a slight drop in performance, and in features, the most notable of which is laser-assisted auto focus. The price starts at...
