BlackBerry 8707g

The BlackBerry 8707g is reasonably zippy and easy-to-use, but lacks many common smartphone features like Wi-Fi and microSD memory expansion.

Easy-to-use, comfortable single-handed operation ; QWERTY keyboard ; 3G data speeds ; Excellent battery life

No Wi-Fi ; No GPS ; Non-expandable memory ; Not as sharp looking as newer models

It may be a matter of carrier loyalty that sells the 8707g, considering it is available exclusively with 3 Mobile, and is the telco's only BlackBerry on offer. However, if we had our pick, we'd have to go with the lighter, leaner Pearl 8120 or wait a...

For a two-year-old phone, the 8707g stands up well, but it's without many of the features we now expect in smartphones like Wi-Fi, GPS and microSD support.

Have this for almost a year; It is very good device to get email on the road.

This is an excellent machine to get emails if you travel a lot. And although the network is spotty in Korea, you are still able to get data and voice service; and adequate in Japan.

Push email ; and 3G (for Korea and Japan)

Sound quality and no expansion memory

An efficient little device

I just got my new Blackberry and must say it does the trick if you're looking for a no frills machine that still has all the requirements for a busy executive. Too bad that there is no cover and the plastic "holder" that comes with the device is too...

Phone, email and 3G in a safe way together

Scrollwheel click not sensitive enough, sound quality, plastic holder scratches

Has many entertainment/communication features

Opera Browser is not fully featured

A great product given 3G/GSM compatibility, though not tested yet.

I recently moved to South Korea from Singapore and have been struggling to get used to the lack of mobility/roaming. Blackberry service was recently launched but with no real mobility (international roaming) given the network difference. I am told...

3G/GSM Compatibility (should work in South Korea, Japan), tethered modem

no camera and big size (not a major handicap though)
