BlackBerry 9720 review

The Blackberry 9720 is a traditional-style BlackBerry running the old BlackBerry 7.1 OS and with the benefits of a touchscreen and a physical QWERTY keyboard. But the low specs and lack of apps lower its appeal.

The BlackBerry is an affordable phone that offers the advantage of a touchscreen OS plus a full physical QWERTY keyboard. That makes it a an attractive option compared to entry-level QWERTY phones like the Nokia Asha 302 or the BlackBerry Curve 9320 .

Blackberry 9720 Review

BlackBerry OS 7.1 is not dead, not by a long shot. Smartphones running the OS will very much be around, and the 9720 is just one of the many that the company says will be launched in the coming months. At Rs. 15,990, the 9720 does test your love for...

Design philosophy carried forward from the older Curves, Good display. Pity it is so small!, Comfortable keyboard

The OS feels archaic, Doesn't look very different from its predecessors

BlackBerry 9720 review

Budget BlackBerry 9720 winds clock back to BB 7, but who's biting?

Good battery life ; Physical keyboard ; MicroSD slot ; BlackBerry security

Lack of apps ; Slow, dated interface ; Small display ; Looks and feels cheap

It's slow. It's dated. The display is tiny. There aren't many apps. It looks and feels cheap. It runs the older BlackBerry 7, not the newer BlackBerry 10. And people wonder why BlackBerry's in trouble. Better phones are widely available.

BlackBerry 9720 Review: In Depth

What's this, BlackBerry has release the new 9720 into the wild, which sports BBOS 7.1 and a design we became accustomed to until everything changed...

BlackBerry 9720 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The BlackBerry 9720 is a cheap smartphone. It has an old-style BlackBerry design, with a full Qwerty keyboard, which helps it to stand out from the masses of touchscreen models. Some people prefer physical keyboards, but does the small screen make it...

Review: BlackBerry 9720 - For Old Times' Sake

Good-old QWERTY keypad; Offers both touchscreen and trackpad; Straghtforward UI; Long battery life

Dated OS 7.1 platform; Paltry internal storage; Back-panel feels cheap; Camera is disappointing; Lacks front-facing camera

The sturdy build and the iconic QWERTY keypad are the high-point of the 9720. On the other hand, now that BBM is available on Android and iOS platforms, there's one less reason for users to stick with the Canadian manufacturer. Furthermore, its BIS...

BlackBerry 9720

Wait what? A sequel to a four year old phone? That's exactly what the BlackBerry 9720 is, a follow up to the 2009 9700 emailer. It's still rocking the QWERTY keypad - and worryingly, largely the same software - but this time it's debuting at a rock...

The BlackBerry 9720 is an unfortunate reminder of just how far we’ve come in the last few years. There’s little to no reason to aspire to this, an operating system even BlackBerry has moved on from, when you could get more apps and a bigger screen with...

Blackberry 9720 Review, Specs, Price, Images

No surprises here. The BlackBerry 9720 is the quintessential BlackBerry – candybar design, the iconic trackpad and the adored QWERTY keypad. It resembles almost every other BlackBerry smartphone ever made, especially the curve series.

The 9720 is a basic, traditional BlackBerry; it has strong messaging, email and phone capabilities as you’d expect – but it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. If you take a 2-year old BlackBerry you’d find that it has the same specs as the...

BlackBerry 9720

Due for a contract upgrade but cannot opt for a BlackBerry 10 device due to the lack of BIS support? Then the 9720 is just for you.

Delivers very good touch and type experience on the go; Multicast; supports BIS; packs a dedicated BBM button; and FM Radio on a BlackBerry.

Not as up to date spec wise compared to rivals smartphones; and OS is not on par with rival platforms or BlackBerry 10.
