BlackBerry Flip 8220

The BlackBerry Flip 8220 is a well designed handset that offers a lot but falls a little short of perfection as a business/multimedia d

As a BlackBerry device, the Flip is a consistent performer and also manages to fare a little better than previous models. The battery life is superb and so is the audio player. It loses points with the absence of internal GPS and the very annoying...

Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220

As the first Blackberry clamshell phone ever, the Pearl Flip is designed for a specific cross-section of mobile users: Those who don't really need a full QWERTY keyboard. Note that the original Pearl, still a viable alternative, started the trend of...

Very trendy design; high quality voice calls; cool user interface

No GPS; average quality photos; predictive type has a learning curve

we heartily recommend the Pearl Flip as a stylish phone with ready Wi-Fi connectivity and good battery life.

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

Research in Motion has finally released a BlackBerry for the clamshell crowd. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, as its name suggests, grafts the standard Pearl's modified 20-key QWERTY layout and SureType predictive text-entry technology onto a flip...

Attractive design and displays ; Wi-Fi, UMA support

Keyboard can be difficult to use ; T-Mobile's EDGE data network is slow

BlackBerry users finally get a good-looking clamshell, but keyboard and other features fall short.

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 (Red)

It's been quite a year for Research In Motion. In 2008, the company debuted its premiere touch-screen BlackBerry, the RIM BlackBerry Storm as well as its first clamshell model, the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. While it didn't draw quite the oohs and...

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 features a brilliant internal display and updated interface. The smartphone continues to offer strong e-mail support and adds Documents to Go. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 2-megapixel camera are also onboard

The Pearl Flip 8220 doesn't offer 3G support or GPS. The SureType keyboard also takes some acclimation

While its flashier siblings may overshadow it, the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 should satiate the appetite of flip phone fanatics by bringing in a clamshell design.

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

RIM's first clamshell packs a punch despite the lack of 3G support.

We weren’t sure what it was going to be like using a clamshell BlackBerry. But over a few days, we grew to like the design. Flip phone fans and Pearl addicts will appreciate the improved, spacious keyboard, higher-resolution display, fresh operating...

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 (T-Mobile)

A rare misstep for RIM, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 combines interesting new hardware with software that's a bit underbaked. Hold off on buying a Flip until there are software revisions to fix the many bugs I encountered on my early unit.

Spacious, comfortable keyboard. Excellent camera. HTML e-mail. Six instant-messaging clients. Includes DataViz DocumentsToGo for editing Office documents. Music sounds good

Very buggy. Web browser has serious issues. Call connection errors

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 will likely be another winner from RIMthat is, once the company works out its many bugs. Don't be a beta tester; wait until software updates make this phone work correctly.

BlackBerry KickStart 8220 gets really early review

The Bold is still stealing the overwhelming majority of RIM's spotlight at the moment for a handful of pretty good reasons: one, it's actually been announced; two, it's 3G; and three, it falls in line with the traditional (and loved) BlackBerry form...

BlackBerry 8220 Pearl Flip

BlackBerry's first flip phone has arrived, the Flip Pearl 8220. While it might not be as compact as many of the flip phones currently available, that doesn't mean it's not an attractive cell phone. Although the 8220 Flip sports a new form factor,...
