Review RIM BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone

The return of the BlackBerry. After two years of development behind the scenes, the Canadian firm BlackBerry comes back on the market with their brand new BlackBerry 10 OS and their new Z10 model. Outfitted with a high-resolution 4.2-inch display, a...

Stable manufacturing ; Great display ; Lots of connections ; High-performance ; Battery times ; Intuitive OS ; Ease of one-handed use well thought out ; Operational controls ; Business extras

Glass surface could be stronger ; Cameras only average quality ; Takes time to become familiarized with the OS ; App store selection is limited at the moment

That BlackBerry managed to adapt their excellent keyboard from other devices for a touchscreen

BlackBerry Z10 Review

Some of us have been in a long term relationship with BlackBerry, which began at a time when e-mail became more critical than ever for work, but that love affair has almost tripped over the seven year itch. While most of us might have preferred the...

The display on the Z10 is very impressive. An IPS LCD panel ensures brilliant experience with incredible sharpness on the 4.2-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768. At 356 ppi, it beats the iPhone 5’s Retina Display and Nokia’s latest flagship,...

BlackBerry Z10 (Verizon)

The BlackBerry Z10 is a multitasking champ with a slick new interface and a growing app selection, but the battery life and 4G LTE performance could be better.

Strong multitasking capabilities; BlackBerry Hub serves as a universal inbox; Best touch-screen keyboard on the market; Video chat and screen sharing available through BBM

Short battery life; Erratic LTE performance; Occasional performance lag; Some key apps missing

Click to EnlargeThe Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Z10 should satisfy BlackBerry's ravenous fan base and could even bring back former users who fled the brand for greener pastures. This smartphone's touch-screen keyboard is the best around, and the...

BlackBerry Z10 (T-Mobile)

The BlackBerry Z10 is a capable smartphone with fantastic multitasking features, but you may have to wait a while for T-Mobile's 4G LTE network to reach your area.

Impressive multitasking capabilities; Convenient BlackBerry Hub serves as universal inbox; Best touchscreen keyboard around; Video chat support for BBM

Dim display; Occasional performance issues; Some apps are watered down compared to iOS and Android; T-Mobile's 4G LTE network just getting off the ground

BlackBerry Z10 preview: First look

The touchscreen revolution wasn't equally kind to all big phone makers. Samsung and Apple were quick to spot the opportunity and got propelled to the top, very much at the expense of the likes of BlackBerry and Nokia. And while the Finns thought the...

BlackBerry Z10 review

The Z10 is a nicely designed handset with a superb touchscreen and good specifications that include LTE and NFC support. The new BlackBerry 10 OS offers a decent user experience once you get used to it, although we'd like to see a physical home button.

High-resolution 4.2in. screen ; Runs the latest BlackBerry 10 OS ; LTE (4G) support ; Includes NFC and a Micro-HDMI port ; Good on-screen keyboard ; BlackBerry Balance will appeal to corporate customers

App store is missing some key software ; No support for Google calendar or contacts ; Expensive

Early reports suggest that the BlackBerry Z10 is selling well, although no official figures are available yet. In the long run, however, the company's chances of maintaining market share are likely to depend on how businesses respond to the new...

BlackBerry Z10 review: a new life, or life support?

BlackBerry is about to enter the battle of its life, and as you'll see in my review of its new flagship phone, the Z10, it's using everything in its arsenal to win. Maybe win is the wrong word; perhaps victory for BlackBerry right now is something more...

Clean and solid hardware design ; BlackBerry 10 is a promising new OS ; Keyboard is surprisingly good

Third-party apps leave much to be desired ; New UI tricks don't always pay off ; Battery life is a serious concern

A good phone, but why the Z10? Why now?

BlackBerry Z10

On January 30, 2013, RIM (Research in Motion) announced that the company will officially be known as BlackBerry.

RIM dug deep to give the slick-looking BlackBerry Z10 enough features to satisfy both consumers and professionals -- like a good camera and a sharp user interface.

The Z10's unintuitive gesture paradigm creates a learning curve, and a long list of OS inefficiencies and omissions sour the experience. The bare-bones maps app and a deficit of camera features are two examples.

Though it's not quite enough to draw committed iPhone or Android owners, the BlackBerry Z10's modern design and features give BlackBerry fans what they've hungered for.

BlackBerry Z10 (AT&T)

The BlackBerry Z10 is a thoroughly modern smartphone with a thoroughly modern mobile OS. I've been using it for about a week, and can say it's competitive with the latest offerings from Apple, Google, and Microsoft. But is it competitive enough? The...

Well-built. "Flow" metaphor makes it easy to multitask. Excellent multimedia support

Hardware is rather generic. LTE usage saps the battery. App situation is unclear for now

The first BlackBerry 10 handset, the Z10 is a thoroughly modern, high-quality smartphone with a strong focus on messaging, but is it enough to restore relevance?

BlackBerry Z10

The BlackBerry Z10 offers a slick, multitasking-friendly interface, killer keyboard and one-stop shop for messaging and social networking, but BlackBerry needs to work out some kinks.

Slick interface aids multitasking; BlackBerry Hub combines email messaging and social networking; Superior touch keyboard learns as you type; Smart integration of calendar contacts and messaging; BBM supports video chat and screen sharing

Performance lags at times; Display dimmer than competing smartphones; Some apps feel watered down compared to iOS and Android; Camera struggles in low light
