Casio G'zOne Ravine (Verizon Wireless)

The Casio G'zOne Ravine is a sturdy durable phone that is military-certified to take a beating. Features include outdoor-specific applications, EV-DO Rev. A, Push-to-Talk, GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and more.

The Casio G'zOne Ravine doesn't have external music player controls or a 3.5mm headset jack. Call quality was not as good as expected.

The Casio G'zOne Ravine is a great all-purpose phone for the outdoors enthusiast, but the mixed call quality is disappointing.

Casio G'zOne Ravine (Verizon Wireless)

On the outside, the white, backlit, 1.4-inch monochrome display features a huge, easy-to-read clock, and even displays graphics for some of the apps (more on that later). Inside, the 2.2-inch internal display sports 240-by-320-pixel resolution, and was...

Looks and feels great. Solid call quality. Long battery life. Versatile, outdoorsy apps. Extremely rugged

Dated music player

The Ravine is the ultimate rugged voice phone, virtually indestructible with great call quality and an impressive feature set. It still sounds great after you run it over with a car.

"Day 1 with phone...HATE it!"

rugged but cant make effective outdoor calls

Apparently they fixed the mic issue with a super sensitive mic that picks up background noise as loud as the user.... two thumbs down...waaayyy down

"Someone designed a rugged phone but forgot usability!"

expensive, clunky with extremely cumbersome menu and daily usability issues - not up to date with any phone nowadays - and now you stuck with this handgranade for 3 years.

rugged shell - not sufficiently tested yet - a feature that is barely used by anyone

"Great phone that people misjudge."

People all over have been ranting about how the Ravine has terrible call quality and such, I know, I used to think so too. Turns out that there is a bit of a learning curve. The phone cannot be pressed against your cheek like all those other phones...

Durability, camera, low SAR rating, GZ gear (look at the specs lol)

The price is kinda high and the phone is beefier than most, but to be expected.

"Tough but simple"

If you need a tough phone to survive in a tough environment or to survive a clumsy or dangerous user this is your phone.

Ran over this phone with my Van. Thats right.....i said ran it over. Screen was quirky after but phone still dialed and performed until i got it to store for replacement. Wore this phone into lake accidentally. Works fine.....actually received call while

Any time you need your hands you wont be heard. Due to mic location you hold against your face and it is blocked.

Good Phone, just a little large

I don't understand what people are thinking when they say the mouthpiece you talk into is near the hinge on this phone. That's probably the microphone to record voice memos and to pick up sound on the video camera. The one you talk into on a call is...

Sturdy look and feel, good screen and functionality. Pretty flashing light on the front when a call or text is received. Clear menu options for texting. Email works well. Call quality good after adjustments

The phone is too big for my head. At first I thought I sounded too distant to those I was talking to ; because of poor call quality. I tried a conversation again where I bent the phone in so the earpiece was at my ear and my mouth was near the mouthpiece
