EE Rook review

The EE Rook is possibly the cheapest 4G smartphone on sale. It comes with the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop, and is a smart, compact phone. However, the cost-cutting needed to make the device so cheap is in evidence everywhere, and we can't really...

The EE Rook does what it claims - provides a very cheap 4G smartphone option. The market demand for cheap smartphones ia huge, and if you're buying one, then 4G must be a bonus.

EE Rook review

EE ups the price wars with a 4-inch 4G handset for just £49

Nippy processor ; Reasonable screen resolution ; Latest stock Android

Awful camera quality ; Poor inbuilt speaker ; Terrible viewing angles

The introduction of the BenQ-manufactured EE Harrier and EE Harrier Mini was the start of a new breed of own-branded handsets from Britain's largest network, continuing the ornithological theme that started with the EE Kestrel, built by Huawei.

EE Rook

The EE Rook is an entry-level smartphone from the UK's biggest network provider, and the cheapest 4G handset we've ever seen.

4G support ; Incredibly cheap ; Android Lollipop

Poor screen ; Bad camera ; Thick, stumpy build

EE Rook review

Affordable, but worth buying?

If you don't mind the basic design, the EE Rook isn't a bad little phone at all. We can hardly argue with the price of £39 for existing customers and the performance is better than we expected for a sub-£50 phone. It's mainly the miserable viewing...

EE Rook Review: In Depth

EE Rook review: We review the latest EE own-brand 4G mobile phone, the stunningly affordable EE Rook. But is this £49.99 phone (a mere £39.99 for existing customers) a solid budget choice/secondary handset,…

4G ; Crazy cheap ; Decent second handset

Poor screen for media ; Very basic camera

If you need a super-cheap phone for a younger relative or to replace your usual handset, and your priority is nippy web browsing, then the EE Rook is a solid choice. The basic processor handles everyday running without too much of a struggle and the...

EE Rook

I think they have tried to cram too much into a budget smartphone, they would have done better just having 3G technology instead of 4G and looking at better batterys instead. Don't get me Wong its alright if it's a first or second smartphone or if your...
