Pre 3 for AT&T review

This is a review of a phone that was never actually released to the public on AT&T. Despite the unfortunateness of the prior statement, we felt

Stunning display ; webOS is beautiful to use ; Extraordinarily rare

Difficult to find ; Not on sale to the public ; webOS is dead

The Pre 3 is living proof that Palm had it in 'em, but with webOS all but dead, it's left to be an amazing collectible.

HP Pre 3

Palm fans might be saddened to see the "Palm" name vanish from the device.. but on the other hand, they will probably very much like the HP Pre 3's hugely improved feature set.

HP Pre 3 review

The HP Pre 3 is the latest in a line of similarly-styled handsets from the now defunct Palm division of HP. Each model has improved the original's excellent design and tweaked both the hardware quality and the way the operating system works too. There...

Screen is lovely, keyboard is good, well thought-out OS, well-designed and well-built hardware, email support is second-to-none

Poor internal storage capacity, lack of apps, battery life still not brilliant, suffers with lag and slowdowns, Flash video is dreadful

It's a great shame that HP has decided to shut down both Palm, and the phones it helped to create. The Pre 3 is a wonderful little device. The company has improved it over previous iterations and it's now a smashing little smartphone.

HP Pre 3 webOS smartphone

HP is attempting to become the latest significant player in the ever popular smartphone category by launching the Pre 3; a smartphone running Palm's w...

3.6in capacitive touchscreen, webOS, slide-out keyboard

No confirmed Australian release, no expendable memory

HP's first webOS smartphone, the Pre 3, builds on the foundation of Palm's original Pre devices, but ups the ante with a bigger screen and a faster processor.

HP Pre 3 hands-on test

The HP Pre 3 looks powerful and we already love its slick webOS software. But the lack of apps and fellow Pre users will make you a lone wolf on the smart-phone tundra.

Slick, intuitive webOS software ; Physical Qwerty keyboard ; Bigger screen and keys than its predecessor

Bulky ; Not as many apps available as there are on rival platforms

Overall, the HP Pre 3 looks like a big, powerful upgrade to the Pre and Pre 2. It webOS software is slick and easy to use, too. But the lack of apps and fellow Pre users means that you'll probably miss out on some of the fun of brandishing a smart phone

HP Pre 3 Review

"The HP Pre 3 is a high-powered smartphone that has both a touchscreen and backlit, slide-out keyboard."

The Pre 3 also has a hefty 1.4Ghz processor, and whilst it’s not going go toe-to-toe with dual-core monsters, it's a suitably high-powered processor. It looks set to arrive in two different models; 8GB and 16GB.

HP Pre 3

HP's first attempt at a WebOS smartphone may look like an old phone with a new badge, but its powerful processor will be the difference.

We're still waiting to hear from HP about whether the Pre 3 will make its way down under. Technically speaking, the Pre 3's 900/2100MHz HSUPA network capabilities make it compatible with most of Australia's 3G networks. Plus, the familiarity we have...

HP Pre 3 webOS smartphone

Review So it's come to this. After a potentially brand-saving buyout by HP and the launch of a well-received – at least critically, if not commercially – operating system with webOS, Palm is finally on the way out.

Alas, despite price cut rumours, hunting down an HP Pre 3 beyond Carphone Warehouse may well be a problem, if experience is anything to go by. The review sample came through Clove Technology [5] – a distributor that, in all the uncertainty, eventually...

iPhone-sized device that runs webOS, with decent specs

This phone is not about muscle, is about brain. There's nothing more useless than a great hardware with anoying software, unintuitive OS, or complicate ways to multitask. Just a fact: no one that uses webOS comes back to any other platform without...

webOS is just the best UI, intuitive as iOS, functional as Android, and built for multitasking like no other. It's a revolution on UI just the same as Macintosh was. On smartphones, apps are not as important as the UI, at least for regular people

This OS is very slow when opening apps. That ruins most of the experience. 1.4GHz is enough to fix this? Let's hope so. Other problem are apps, not because they're important, but becasue they lure the number of costumers that make the OS relevant
