HTC 7 Trophy review: Achievement unlocked

It truly is a catchy name, but the Trophy is – so to speak – the consolation prize in the HTC Windows Phone 7 lineup. It's not the big guy in the family nor is it the smartest. The Trophy is a middle-of-the-roader, the mass market choice. It's the...

3.8" 16M-color capacitive LCD touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Dual-band 3G with HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA (2Mbps) ; Windows Phone 7 operating system ; 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 576MB RAM, 512MB ROM ; 5...

Non-expandable storage ; Average display ; No lens protection ; Disappointing audio quality

With Windows Phone 7 mobiles there seems to be a status quo – great hardware and a tinge of disappointment on the software side.

HTC 7 Trophy Review

The HTC 7 Trophy has been positioned as the most affordable of HTC's line-up of Windows Phone 7 devices, despite slotting in-between the HTC 7 Mozart and HTC HD7 in terms of size. Microsoft's strict rules on minimum hardware specifications should mean...

Unfortunately, the Trophy’s screen isn’t big enough to oust the HD7, high-quality enough to rival the Samsung Focus, and its camera skills fall short of the Mozart. Yes, you can have it from free on a £25 or higher contract on Vodafone in the UK, but...

HTC 7 Trophy Review

The word trophy conjures images of acclaimed success and triumph, of being the best of the best, the winner if you will. As it happens, HTC have given this accolade to their lowest specced Windows Phone 7 handset, the HTC 7 Trophy. With a 1GHz...

HTC 7 Trophy Reviewed

The HTC 7 Trophy is another addition from HTC to the Windows Phone 7 line up. Announced on October 11th by HTC and released to the public on October 21st through Vodafone, the HTC 7 Trophy was one of the first Windows Phone 7 handsets to be released....

The HTC 7 Trophy is truly a run of the mill Windows Phone 7 handset. It really is the bare minimum of what Windows Phone 7 handsets will be. One of the worries with Windows Phone 7 is that with each new handset that's released, it's harder and harder...

Review: HTC 7 Trophy Windows Phone 7 smartphone review

One of a handful of new Windows Phone 7 devices, the HTC 7 Trophy is probably the WP7 equivalent of the HTC Desire, in that it has a 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, and similarly sized WVGA display. It's touted as the gaming handset of HTC's WP7...

Fast processor, fresh UI, nicely sized screen

No microSD card slot, fiddly/slow camera, no task manager

Overall, the HTC 7 Trophy's hardware is nicely screwed together right from the unassuming black exterior to the bright yellow interior (yes, HTC have been at it again - giving their phones colorful guts). It's just a shame about the lack of a microSD...

HTC 7 Trophy

The Trophy has a slightly bigger screen but downgraded camera compared to the HTC 7 Mozart, and it is pretty close in specification to the rival LG Optimus 7.

HTC 7 Trophy Windows Phone 7

The HTC 7 Trophy, which was announced back in October, is running Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 operating system and is powered by a Qualcomm CPU at 1 GHz. Like all other European HTC Windows Phone 7 smartphones, the HTC 7 Trophy supports quadband...

HTC 7 Trophy

I am real happy with it.

It's a real nice phone for the price. Windows 7 runs well on it. It responsive, no lag that i have noticed. It's an unlocked German edition. The CD was in German, but it was easy to change it to English

It's a little tough setting up a Windows Live account with the Zune software. I had to reset the phone to get it to sync ; It does not take a memory card, but I don't put much on the phone as far as pictures and music goes

Will Windows Survive?

I have been waiting patiently for Microsoft to come through with an easy to use phone since my Motorola Q that will sync with their own software, namely, Outlook. I purchased my new phone from Verizon, the interface is GREAT, very quick, very ...

Camera. Video. Great Battery Life. Great GUI

Won't sync with their own products. MAPS are poor. Limited apps
