One flagship and three mid-range smartphones. That's what HTC brought to the MWC 2016 table and here are our first impressions of the devices.

HTC Desire 530 Smartphone Review

Everyone's Desire? HTC offers a new smartphone in the 200-Euro (~$222) category. The Desire 530 aims to impress buyers with a unique design, decent cameras and unusually good sound among other things. Our test reveals whether the smartphone can fulfill...

micro-SD card can be used as system storage ; latest Android Marshmallow ; accurate touchscreen ; reliable GPS module ; LTE support ; good call quality via earpiece ; good sound via headset jack ; decent battery life ; smooth to use Android user interface

total performance below average ; relatively big casing ; primary camera quality middling ; quiet microphone in hands-free mode ; WiFi only in 2.4 GHz band ; no Miracast, MHL or USB OTG support ; no notification LED ; non-removable battery ; screen's...

Whether HTC's attempt at making a unique design statement with the Desire 530 has been successful is probably a matter of taste. Regardless of that, the casing pleases with its decent build and good hardware buttons. However, it hardly conveys a...

HTC Desire 530 review: A Sense-able budget phone

The HTC Desire 530 offers up a Snapdragon 210 chipset, 1.5GB RAM, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and an HD display, all for under $200, but is it worth it? Find out here.

Normally, I'd end a review by stating whether or not I'd recommend purchasing the device. For the HTC Desire 530, there are a couple conditions that you must meet for me to recommend this phone.

HTC Desire 530: Great Paint Job with A Lot to Be Desired [Review]

I have always been a fan of the design decision usually brings to the table whether it's the Desire Eye to the latest flagship the HTC 10 , they tend to try something new when others are pretty much afraid. Sometimes you want a different style from...

I’m usually pleased with HTC devices for the most part but the Desire 530 is a disappointing affair. Its display is pretty weak outdoors, its processing power is abysmal and it just seems to take long to upload anything. Its true saving grace is its...

HTC Desire 530 review: An affordable phone you should pass on

Sluggish performance and screen that fails to impress make this a bad deal at any price.

It's cheap ; Camera does an okay job ; microSD card support

very, very slow performance ; horrible battery life ; dim display

Sluggish performance and screen that fails to impress aren’t worth the low price tag.

HTC Desire 530 Review: More Drip Than Splash

HTC's Desire 530 is not without its charms, even beyond the phone's low price tag. Both cameras deliver better photos than you might think, you get a full day's worth of power, and the Boomsound feature delivers pretty good sound through headphones.

Cameras take solid photos, particularly selfies ; Above-average battery life ; Audiophiles will like the Soundboom feature

Terrible performance ; Display is hard to see outdoors ; Micro splash design fails to wow

HTC's Desire 530 tries to attract budget shoppers with a decent camera and good battery life, but its gaudy design, display and performance disappoint.

HTC Desire 530 Review

Nobody expects a sub-$200 product to compete with the world's top smartphones, and it would be unfair to review the HTC Desire 530 as though its only competition were $700 flagships. There are, after all, plenty of other phones out there for around the...

The Desire 530 feels solid and dependable in your hand, thanks to a smooth, well-machined plastic shell.

Its processor is a travesty in this day and age, so slow that even basic scrolling through text is a laggy, frustrating experience.

HTC kept the Desire 530’s price down by sacrificing its display and processor, the two critical components you need for a remotely decent phone experience. You’re better off buying a refurbished flagship than you are a new 530.

HTC Desire 530 set to hit the US

HTC is a name that many of us are familiar with, especially where their range of smartphones are concerned. The Taiwanese company has churned out its fair share of winners in the past, although in recent times, they have not exactly been bouncing off...

HTC Desire 530 review

The HTC Desire 530 would make an excellent entry-level Android phone. Unfortunately, it's been priced at around £150 sim free, which is far too expensive for a phone of this type. If the price drops, it will become a good choice, thanks to its nice...

The HTC Desire 530 is a good entry-level phone that has been over-optimistically priced by HTC. Selling at £150 off-contract, it's severely over-priced at the time of launch. That's a shame, because the phone is nicely-styled, and has a great mix of...
