HTC Desire 601

With its all-metal design and full-HD screen, the HTC One is a stunning piece of kit, whether you're a hardened tech nerd or a casual phone fan with deep pockets. If your budget is a bit tighter -- or you simply have better things to spend your money...

The HTC Desire 601 shares attractive design cues with the flagship HTC One, the front-facing speakers pack a serious punch, it has 4G LTE and it won't break the bank either.

It's running on old Android software, its screen resolution doesn't impress and its dual-core processor doesn't really give a lot of power.

Sure, it doesn't have the latest Android software on board, but if you're after a good-looking HTC phone with powerful speakers and 4G LTE for speedy data downloads, the Desire 601 is an affordable option to consider.

HTC Desire 601 Review

HTC is slowly building an army of mid-range smartphones, and the Desire 601 is one of the newest officers in its ranks. With a 4.5” qHD display, Snapdragon 400 SoC and a 5 MP camera, the HTC Desire 601 is definitely not going to scare away the opposing...

Front-facing stereo speakers

Mediocre call quality ; So-so camera

The HTC Desire 601 is an OK mid-range smartphone. It doesn't fascinate us in any area, including the design, the internals and the software. However, it does deliver a decent user experience with no significant slow-downs.

HTC Desire 601

The HTC Desire 601 offers consumers many of the features found on HTC's flagship phone – the HTC One – while keeping a more budget price. Although it lacks the metal finish of the One, reviewers still find the rubberized plastic finish to be both...

5MP camera produces good quality images, Decent processor performance when using apps and browsing the web, 4G LTE connection

Only 4.68GB of usable onboard storage, Slow screen response, Display suffers from washed out colors

HTC Desire 601 Dual SIM Review

Although one of the most graceful looking smartphones in the market, the HTC Desire 601 dual SIM is just overpriced for the features it offers and doesn't even give a groundbreaking performance either. One could easily go for a much faster and better...

Nice and appealing design, Loud speaker is crisp and clear, Good productivity performance, Great battery backup

Very badly priced, Low resolution display, Mediocre camera, Low internal memory

Hands on: HTC Desire 601 review

Want BoomSound and Zoes but without the expense?

Great HTC features ; Low price 4G

Not a lot different to One Mini ; Could be hard on battery

HTC Desire 601 review: Hands-on

The HTC Desire 601 is the first of the brand's mid-range Desire phones to feature LTE. T3 went in for a closer look...

While the price has yet to be announced, the HTC Desire 601 will sport a much more affordable price tag than the top-of-the-range HTC One and One Mini. Add to that LTE connectivity and a nicely desinged chassis, and this could be a serious contender in...

HTC Desire 601 pictures and hands-on: A mid-ranger that sounds good?

The HTC Desire 601 is a nice enough Android smartphone and what it has managed to snatch from the One range is welcomed. However unless HTC prices this considerably cheaper than the HTC One mini there doesn't seem to be much point in considering it....

HTC Desire 601

Hands-on: An enticing mid-range phone with the awesome speakers from the HTC One

The HTC Desire 601 is a sensible phone with a feature or two that helps separate it from the masses of pretty anonymous mid-range Android phones. Best of the lot is the BoomSound array of speakers on the phone’s front, which supply much meatier sound...

HTC Desire 601 Review: In Depth

The HTC Desire 601 is a mid-range 4.5-inch phone that's a rung down from the HTC One Mini but a couple of notches up from the Facebook-centric HTC First. A respectable set of features, including a 5-megapixel Full HD camera and 4G support come along...

Review: HTC Desire 601

HTC's Desire 601 is an interesting smartphone, if only because the company has taken a lot of what made the HTC One extremely good and thrown it into a mid-range phone.

Like a slightly cheaper version of the excellent HTC One handset, Fast 4G, Supports expandable memory, something we wish both the HTC One and HTC One Mini would, Still features the HTC BoomSound speakers on the front, meaning the sound from the...

Plastic body, One day battery life, Mediocre camera that isn't up to the "Ultrapixel" quality set out by the HTC One, No NFC, No infrared
