Cingular 8525 Smart Phone

If checking e-mail or surfing the Web is sluggish on your aging cell phone, the Cingular 8525--the first PDA phone that's compatible with Cingular's fledgling high-speed HSDPA network--might be the answer to your prayers. For the most part, the 8525...

Delivers broadband data speeds 2-megapixel camera works well

Poor talk-time battery life Bulky design

Alas, the battery life in our lab tests was exceptionally poor: It lasted just 4 hours, 21 minutes, which ranks among the worst spans we've recorded. Overall, I'd recommend the 8525 to business users who don't mind carrying a few extra ounces (and an...

Cingular 8525

Cingular's first HSDPA-enabled smart phone brings true mobile broadband and a host of high-end features to the palm of your hand.

Good data speeds with HSDPA • Broad keyboard • Useful new scroll wheel • Wi-Fi and stereo Bluetooth supported • Sharp 2-MP camera

HSDPA network still being rolled out • Push-to-talk feature not yet supported

Cingular 8525 released, reviewed

So, Cingular's finally announced their 8525 -- what a relief. As we suspected, it'll set you back $399 (with two year contract -- sorry, no price yet listed with 1 year or no contract) when it launches November 16th but LAPTOP has the first official ...

AT&T 8525

The AT&T 8525 (a.k.a. HTC Hermes) made waves by being the first carrier-offered UMTS/HSDPA smart phone in the States, which brought fast, broadband-like connection speeds to this Windows Mobile device. Also, as the successor to the AT&T 8125 , the 8525...

The AT&T 8525 is the first UMTS/HSDPA smart phone to be offered in the United States. It has integrated Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, and supports AT&T's new music, video, and location-based services. The Windows Mobile device also has push e-mail...

The AT&T 8525 is on the heavier side and the navigation array is a bit cramped. The smart phone is also pricey.

For the ultimate road warrior, the 3G-enabled AT&T 8525 provides the speed, the power, and the productivity tools to get your work done on the go.

Cingular 8525

Slide the screen to the side and rotate the 8525 to use its QWERTY keyboard, which isn't great, but it'll get the job done. The keys are close together, like the 8125's, but they're also oddly smaller than its predecessor. Thankfully, the keypad lights...

HSDPA and Wi-Fi for high-speed Internet. Zippy processor. Stereo Bluetooth

Not the greatest keyboard. Earpiece could be louder. Some hiss on calls

The Cingular 8525 will keep you connected to the Internet at the highest speed possible wherever you go (given the limitations of Cingular's network), and you won't miss a single call while you're online.

Cingular 8525 and HTC TyTN - Windows Mobile PDA Phone and Smartphone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

Mess with a good thing, go ahead. The Cingular 8125 which we praised highly in our February 2006 review, was loved not just by us but by our readers. That review has been one of our most popular in 2006 and the 8125 has sold incredibly well. In the US,...

An excellent device for power users who need to do email, view and edit Word and Excel documents, view PowerPoint presentations and PDFs on the go and surf the web. Not just a business device, the Cingular 8525 and TyTN are great multimedia playmates...

Cingular 8525 Review

The Cingular 8525 is a Pocket PC phone with a built-in keyboard, Wi-Fi b/g, and 3G cellular-wireless networking. Adama D. Brown brings us this review.

Wireless broadband, Extensive connectivity options, Solid design, Exceptional RF performance

microSD slot, Combination USB/audio jack

While it would have been nice to see some slightly flashier upgrades for the price, such as more memory, or an improved screen, the 8525 delivers in two critical areas--wireless performance and speed.

Review: Cingular 8525

The Cingular 8525, based on the HTC Hermes/TyTN, is the subject of our latest review. This Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC supports 3 HSDPA/UMTS bands and 4 GSM/EDGE bands. It doesn't lack any connectivity, that's for sure.

Great connectivity, scroll wheel, large keyboard

Bulky, heavy, keyboard slips open too easily
