HTC Hero S (U.S. Cellular)

High-resolution display. HTC Sense UI looks good and improves functionality

Middling voice quality and reception. Midrange hardware

The HTC Hero S is a powerful Android phone that you'd be quite happy with—if only the superior Motorola Electrify wasn't the same price.

HTC Hero S (U.S. Cellular)

The HTC Hero S is an attractive and capable Android smartphone for U.S. Cellular customers, but the Motorola Electrify offers more bang for your buck.

The HTC Hero S offers world roaming capabilities and an attractive, compact design. The Android Gingerbread device also features a 5-megapixel camera and the latest version of HTC Sense

Camera and call quality could be better. For the same price, the competition offers a faster processor and more internal memory

Holding Out for a HTC Hero S

The HTC Hero S is a high mid-range or a low high-end Android smartphone on U.S. Cellular and you can pick one up for $199.99 on a two year contract. It has a 1.2 GHz single core processor, 768 MB of RAM and a 4 inch touch screen. We take a close look...

The HTC Hero S is an attractive smartphone and it’s a solid choice. The only other Android smartphone on U.S. cellular right now that’s better is the Motorola Electrify (bigger screen, dual-core processor and an 8 MP camera). If you’re not tied to U.S....

"Phone signal is very weak"

I have never had problems getting a signal before with US Cellular. The HTC Hero S constantly drops calls and cuts out conversation.

"Outstanding First Android Phone."

I love this phone. I never have any issues removing the battery cover, the call quality is great, it has only dropped 2 calls since i bought it in mid December. The screen size is great, i dont really need anything larger than this screen. The mic and...

Screen size, camera quality, call quality, battery life, internal ram and rom, overall phone size, speaker quality, the way the battery and SD card are covered

cant honestly say there are any in my opinion, maybe that there are no future android or sense upgrades foreseen by HTC themselves

Not a high-profile phone. It just does its job well!

We recently moved to US Cellular from Sprint, and I chose the Hero S over the Motorola Electrify (almost the same as the Photon). Compared to my last Android phone (LG Optimus), this is a "Cadillac", when my Optimus was a "Vega". It has the capability...

HTC Sense interface, battery life, screen resolution, high-quality looks and feel, very adequate space for installation of apps

Signal strength meter sometimes inaccurate, takes a lot of work to remove battery cover
