HTC Touch Cruise (unlocked)

The HTC Touch Cruise offers road warriors and travel lovers great navigation features in a compact smartphone; we just wish it had a better screen.

The HTC Touch Cruise offers great navigation and ships with U.S. maps. The HTC Footprints application provides a nice way to record highlights of your trip. The Windows Mobile smartphone also features 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3.2-megapixel...

The screen isn't the sharpest, and it washes out in bright sunlight. It's also a bit small for in-car navigation. The onscreen keyboard is cramped, and expandable memory is limited when using maps

Touch Cruise

An unlocked brother to the HTC Touch series phones, the HTC Touch Cruise ($550, unlocked, as of 4/9/2009) has an eye-catching look and a beautifully designed touch interface. But like the other HTC phones we've tested, the Cruise suffers from sluggish...

Gorgeous touch interface Lightweight and slim design

Spotty call quality Performance sometimes sluggish

The HTC Cruise impresses with its gorgeous display and variety of multimedia features. But like other HTC Touch phones we've seen, the Cruise's touch interface gets is bogged down by Windows Mobile, which makes for a sometimes frustrating experience

HTC Touch Cruise review: Happy cruising

Pocket PCs have been keeping us busy these days. Just as we gave you LG KS20, it's time for our one-on-one with the HTC Touch Cruise. And hey, are those workhorses getting sexier or what. As one of our readers sharply observed, those devices just...

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE ; 3G with HSDPA ; 400MHz Qualcomm processor ; 128MB of RAM ; 2.8" 65K color touchscreen TFT display with QVGA resolution ; Integrated Qualcomm GPS receiver ; TomTom satnav software pre-bundled, one free map included ; Wi-Fi...

No hardware keypad ; Inadequate video playback capabilities ; Paint starts to peel off very quickly ; Display image quality is a bit disappointing and is practically illegible under direct sunlight ; Photo processing issues

HTC Touch Cruise

The Cruise is our favourite of the current HTC line-up and compares well to most of the competition. HTC does a good job of making the touchscreen experience easy to use, however, it won't be for everyone.

Attractive looking handset, HSDPA and Wi-Fi, Excellent TouchFlo interface, Bundled navigation software and accessories

Average processing, Below average battery life, Full touchscreen input won't appeal to everyone

I Love It When We're Cruisin' Together - the HTC Touch Cruise Reviewed

Everywhere you look these days, it's "iPhone this" and "iPhone that". For better or worse, the iPhone is a genuine phenomenon and has set the direction for touch enabled phones to come. Windows Mobile 6.5 and 7 will bring a variety of finger friendly...

Offers lots of features for a "budget conscious" phone ; TouchFlo interface is one of the best efforts yet to make WM phones "touch friendly ; Bundled CoPilot Navigation software adds functionality and value

Battery life is merely adequate ; Button layout on front differs from the "standard ; Back cover feels a bit cheap

Overall a well-rounded device that suffers from only a few setbacks. Look past these however and you'll find the Touch Cruise intuitive to use and quite well stacked in terms of features. It's not too shabby on the performance front either.

Interface looks great and is intuitive to use, quick performer, good battery life, control wheel works well

Lacks a flash for its camera, body retains fingerprints
