HTC Titan (AT&T) Review

Once we got used to the HTC Titan's size, we enjoyed using this Windows Phone on a daily basis. The large screen is bright (albeit with relatively low resolution), and we appreciated the snappy performance. We're just not sure how many people want to...

Big and bright display with wide viewing angles, Sturdy and elegant design, Smooth performance, Good battery life, Useful camera settings

Design too large for some, Sluggish "4G" speeds, Takes fuzzy photos in low light, Poor video call quality with Tango

HTC Titan (AT&T)

The HTC Titan's big and beautiful design and impressive features make it one of the better Windows Phone offerings on AT&T.

The HTC Titan has a premium and polished design coupled with a colorful and vibrant display. It ships with the latest Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, and has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, an 8-megapixel camera that takes great pictures, and a front-facing...

The HTC Titan could be a little too large for small hands, and it doesn't offer expandable memory. We expected better call quality as well

HTC Titan review: Huge is the new big

One big scary smartphone, the HTC Titan. Visible from space. Oh well, a little exaggeration won't hurt. But as far as we can tell, they certainly wanted it big enough to see from Finland.

Massive 4.7" 16M-color S-LCD capacitive touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Dual-band 3G with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps ; Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS ; 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon CPU,...

A bit on the gigantic side ; Screen size stretches the resolution a little thin ; Non-expandable storage ; No mass storage ; Zune only file management and sync ; No Flash (nor Silverlight) support in the browser ; No native video calls ; No DivX/XviD...

HTC don’t need to prove anything to anyone when it comes to Windows smartphones. They’ve just come a full circle from the TyTN II to the Titan. There have been enough opportunities for them to demonstrate their commitment. From PocketPC to Mango,...

HTC Titan

We knew as soon as we first clapped eyes on this hulk of a phone that it'd make a brave purchase. It's not just the 4.7-inch screen that requires a leap of faith, but also the Windows Phone operating system, which is presented here in all its Mangofied...

Big display is a good match for this OS ; Touchscreen keyboard makes typing painless ; Build quality is almost perfect ; Brilliant camera for both stills and video

Usable storage maxes out at 12.6GB ; WP 7.5 still has a few bugs and a shortage of apps

This phone is not for the faint-hearted, but its build quality, screen size and camera make it the best Windows Phone on the market -- at least for now.

HTC Titan Review

Rarely does a gadget's name quite so well describe its nature, as is the case with the HTC Titan . A huge 4.7-inch display packed into a battleship-strong metal chassis, the TItan is an unapologetic slab of Windows Phone 7 . Question is, can Mango...

The Titan is a phone of surprises. The big display leads you to expect a similarly impressive resolution, but HTC doesn't deliver that; on the flip-side, it also leaves you cautious about battery life, but the Titan had no trouble there. Windows Phone...

HTC Titan review

The HTC Titan is exactly the sort of Windows Phone Microsoft wants to see from its hardware partners. It's a big and beautiful slab of technology that invites great debate while still conforming to the chassis specs coming out of Redmond. The main...

Superb screen and robust build ; Snappy performance ; WP7.5 gets all the basics right

Low pixel density ; Size makes for awkward handling ; Marketplace lacks the app diversity of iOS and Android

At 4.7 inches, the Titan stretches the definition of the smartphone form factor, but is Windows Phone suited to such a vast display?

HTC Titan and HTC Radar hands-on: HTC media event

HTC's pre-IFA event was (as suspected) all about Windows Phone 7 Mango. HTC had a lot to say about the new version of the OS and what they've added to it, but also showcased two new phones - the 4.7" monster called HTC Titan and the smaller Radar......

We'll get to retelling what HTC told us about Mango, but first we'll focus on the two stars of tonight's event - the first two WP7 phones with Mango to go official

HTC Titan (AT&T)

The HTC Titan is a quad-band EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and tri-band HSPA+ 14.4 (850/1900/2100 MHz) device with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. This phone is 3G, not 4G despite AT&T's claims; expect download speeds averaging 2-3Mbps.

Massive screen is great for video. Solid construction. Fast

Muted voice quality. Low-res screen. Still needs more apps. Not 4G

The HTC Titan is one of the best Windows Phone 7.5 devices out there, but at this size and price, we'd like to see a higher-res screen and LTE.

HTC Titan Review: Windows Phone 7.5 on a Giant Screen
