HTC Touch 2 Mobile Phone

The Touch 2 is a decent phone but too expensive with too many quirks.

Expert review by:

HTC Touch Pro2 (Verizon Wireless)

Sometimes second-best just isn't quite good enough. Verizon's Touch Pro2 is the second-best of the four carrier models of this phone, after Sprint's. It's also Verizon's second-best Windows Mobile smartphone (after the smoother HTC Imagio) and their...

Enough screen and keyboard for any application. Classy looks. True world phone

Huge. Windows Mobile 6.1 is old

HTC's Touch Pro2 finds a good home on Verizon, with true world phone capabilities, a proper headphone jack, and top-notch voice quality in addition to its sublime QWERTY keyboard and super-sharp touch screen.

HTC Touch2 Windows Phone review

Windows Mobile 6.5 is arriving with a fanfare, and a number of high-end Windows Phones to demonstrate Microsoft's latest OS' flexibility. Not every device is a do-everything uber-phone, however; part of Windows Mobile's strength is that it also does...

In fact, the Touch2 was a surprisingly pleasing device. While it lacks the high-resolution display of its more expensive siblings, it also packs Windows Mobile 6.5 into a far more pocket-friendly shell, and with no loss of connectivity. The Windows...

HTC Touch2 (unlocked)

On September 1, Microsoft announced that the first batch of smartphones running its updated mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5, would start shipping on October 6. The next day, Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC wasted no time in announcing...

The HTC Touch2 features a sleek design. Even as an entry-level device, it offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. Windows Mobile 6.5 brings some nice improvements to the user interface

The Touch2 doesn't support U.S. 3G. Screen is low resolution and there's no accelerometer

With the design improvements and enhancements of Windows Mobile 6.5, the HTC Touch2 makes for a nice smartphone for first-time users. Unfortunately, it's not bound for the U.S. and may not be worth its unlocked price.

HTC Touch Pro2 (Verizon Wireless)

The HTC Touch Pro2 is making the rounds to the various carriers; first showing up at T-Mobile, then to Sprint, and now Verizon Wireless. Verizon's version of the Windows Mobile smartphone isn't all that different from the other models, delivering a...

The HTC Touch Pro2 for Verizon offers world roaming capabilities as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and EV-DO Rev. A support. The smartphone features an extra-large touch screen and one of the best QWERTY keyboards we've seen to date. Verizon will also...

The smartphone is bulky. Callers complained of tinny call quality, and the camera took poor pictures

For Verizon's business customers who need more than just a messaging smartphone, the HTC Touch Pro2 delivers with more robust productivity tools and good performance.

HTC Touch Pro2 (Sprint)

Editors' note: In our original review, we incorrectly reported that the Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 does not support international 3G bands.

The HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint offers a gorgeous touch screen, a spacious keyboard, and a 3.5 millimeter jack. The Windows Mobile device also features world-roaming capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The device is bulky in size and also expensive. GPS acquisition was a bit slow in our tests and video streaming wasn't the smoothest.

Despite the jaw-dropping price tag, the HTC Touch Pro2 is a powerful smartphone that delivers in performance and features to make it one of the best devices for Sprint's business customers.

HTC Touch Pro2

We loved the original HTC Touch Pro. Or wanted to, anyway. Though HTC wowed us with distinct styling, a snappy keyboard, and a downright luscious screen, we could never quite get past how clunky the slow the TouchFlo 3D interface felt pasted over...

Gigantic ; extra-sharp display; outstanding call quality; solid build quality; decent accessory pack; dressed-up interface

Exceptionally weak camera; clumsy resistive touch screen; dry design

The second generation of the HTC Touch Pro fixes many of our quibbles with the first, and improves upon what we already liked.

HTC Touch Pro2 (T-Mobile)

The HTC Touch Pro2 features a sharp, spacious touch screen and an easy-to-use full QWERTY keyboard. The Windows Mobile smartphone also includes conference call management tools for business users and offers good call quality. It also has 3G support,...

The smartphone is heavy and bulky. Onboard memory is low, and we would have liked an upgraded camera. It's a bit pricey.

Though hefty in size and price, the HTC Touch Pro2 offers T-Mobile's business customers a powerful smartphone with robust messaging, voice capabilities, and a slick user interface.

HTC Touch Pro 2 (T-Mobile)

The ultimate Windows Mobile phone for power users who are willing to pay a premium.

The HTC Touch Pro2 combines excellent hardware design with a first-class touch user interface, making it the most compelling Windows Mobile device yet. Although it costs $150 more than the sleeker iPhone 3G S, the Touch Pro2 is a powerhouse of a device...

HTC Touch Pro 2

Banking on the popularity of its Fuze (aka Touch Pro) phones for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon, HTC has launched the unlocked Touch Pro 2 ($800; price as of 7/14/09) with a slicker design and a spruced-up user interface. But like many Windows Mobile...

Sophisticated, minimalist design ; Improved TouchFLO interface

Camera is just average ; Software lags at times

The Touch Pro 2 marries Windows Mobile functionality with HTC's clean aesthetics and intuitive usability. If you need a stronger camera or quicker-loading apps, you might look elsewhere, but otherwise the Touch Pro 2 does not disappoint
