Huawei Ascend P1 LTE review

We really liked the Huawei P1 that appeared earlier this year. A solid, likeable and barebones Android handset from the Chinese company that most people still haven't really heard of - and many can't pronounce.

Solid construction, good screen, responsive, pure Android experience

Not hugely exciting, the non-LTE P1 looked a lot better

Very much a phone for people who want 4G, but don't care for the bluster of the other handsets on sale. This is arguably the most plain-looking of all the phones in EEs list, but it's a good, solid handset and it should offer you some solid performance...

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE

Huawei puts its foot on the accelerator with the 4G Ascend P1 LTE.

Fast performance ; Rapid 4G data download speeds ; Solid build quality

Below par screen ; Average camera ; Doesn’t come with Jelly Bean ; Short-ish battery life

The AMOLED technology helps the screen to produce very deep black levels, but as with most AMOLED screens colours can look a little bit over saturated compared to the TFT displays used on the likes of the iPhone 5. Also, the screen's use of pentile...

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE Review: In Depth

The affordable Android option for those who want LTE 4G. A disappointing design can be overlooked thanks to the Ascend P1's capable hardware.

LTE deliver fast mobile internet ; Virtually stock Android UI ; Good web performance

Mediocre screen ; Plastic, hollow build ; Expensive with 4G contract

If you’re prepared to take a hit in terms of design, then the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE is the cheapest Android on EE’s 4G network. The very handsome Nokia Lumia 820 is your Windows Phone alternative that comes in slightly cheaper, and if you don’t need 4G,...

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE

The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE is one of the very first 4G phones to hit the UK, alongside the likes of the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. It's also the very 4G phone to run open-source Android as Google designed - most manufacturers tend to...

The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE may look like the best value 4G phone on paper, but it's a false economy: if you must have blazing LTE speeds, you'd do well to pay the extra to nab a masterpiece like the Apple iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S3. And if you want a...

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE 4G Review

The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE 4G adds 4G support to what was already an

4G compatibility; better design; Sharp qHD screen; decent 8MP snapper

Design lacks the wow factor; 4G signal diminishes near the edges of a hotspot; onscreen keyboard is too complicated

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE

A rather unextraordinary entry into 4G

As the cheapest LTE handset on sale, the Ascend P1 isn't a bad phone, but nor is it a great phone. It offers fast data, but so do the others. There is one saving grace in the form of a decent camera but that isn't really enough

Huawei Ascend P1 LTE review

We review the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE, one of the best value 4G phones around.

Speedy web performance ; Stock Android experience ; Impressive camera performance

Placticky, hollow build ; Screen slightly grainy ; High price premium for LTE

While performance-wise, the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE hits the mark, its poor build and high asking price let down what could have been a great phone.
