Review Huawei Ascend P2 Smartphone

Premium or mid-range? The Ascend P2 fuses a large screen and a po

Battery runtime; Powerful SoC; Bright screen; LTE ready; Good primary camera; Build quality

Memory cannot be expanded; Too low contrast; Tight working memory capacity; Non-removable battery; Load temperature

The runtime is sometimes longer than Samsung's Galaxy S4 despite a lower battery capacity.

Huawei Ascend P2 Review

The Huawei Ascend P2 is marketed as the fastest LTE phone money can buy, and is a member of a mid-range category, but has a drool-worthy specs sheet. A quad-core processor powers the Ascend P2, while a 4.7-inch LCD display graces its front and a 13MP...

Beautiful 720p display ; Slim and light ; Support for 150Mbps LTE speeds ; Rich video file format support

No microSD card slot for storage expansion ; 1080p video looks average at best ; Power and volume buttons are a bit uncomfortable to press

All in all, the Huawei Ascend P2 is an okay mid-range Android smartphone. It is far from being the ultimate device of this class, but it gets the job done and it doesn't have any major drawbacks, save for the inexplicable lack of a microSD card slot....

Huawei Ascend P2 Android phone (preview)

The Huawei Ascend P2, dubbed the

Cat 4 LTE speeds ; Slim and lightweight design ; Physical camera button

Display isn’t Full HD ; No expandable memory ; Ships with older version of Android

If you’re looking for a reasonably cheap Android smartphone with a 4G data connection, Huawei wants your attention. The Ascend P2 is designed to compete with high-end smartphones without breaking the bank.

Huawei Ascend P2 review

The Huawei P1 was a phone we very much liked. It took Huawei away from its fairly safe designs and into uncharted territory. A bold step for a company quite new to selling phones to consumers, and one that worked well

Decent style, solid battery life, decent camera, good screen, custom UI is pleasant enough

Not that cheap, a bit laggy and slow, lacks the glamour of even an older iPhone or SGS

Small, light, pleasant to look at and packed with a decent screen and powerful processor. On the surface, the Huawei looks like the perfect purchase for many. The truth, however, is that it doesn't quite meet the spec with its performance. There's more...

Huawei aims to rise to new heights with this record breaking handset

Decent specs ; Smooth operation ; Solid design ; Good camera

UI looks childish ; Average battery life ; No microSD slot ; Rubbish keyboard

Huawei Ascend P2 review: Hands-on

It's the fastest 4G phone yet, thanks to a modem that can download at amazing speeds. And the Huawei Ascend P2 looks good, too

Huawei is good at delivering strong, affordable handsets with good design and great screens. This is no exception and will be a great mid-range phone though the smartphone stakes are high now with powerful and punchy phones being released from every...

Huawei Ascend P2 review

The Huawei Ascend P2 is slim, has a vivid screen and a decent camera. It's let down though by its uninspiring performance, some software bugs and its relatively high price.

Slim design ; Bold screen ; Highly customisable interface ; Decent camera

Unimpressive performance ; Some software issues ; Too expensive

The Huawei Ascend P2 is slim, has a bold screen and a decent camera. It would be a good mid-range phone if it was a tad cheaper -- and of course if the software issues could be sorted out. If you can pick it up on a good deal, it's certainly worth a...

Huawei Ascend P2

Is the 'fastest smartphone in the world' actually the best Android phone to buy?

Great battery life ; Bright, vibrant screen ; Solid, robust design

Uninspiring look ; Childish Emotion UI ; No MicroSD slot

The display reacts well to presses, swipes, and gestures like pinch and zoom. There's even a 'Gloves' mode to increase responsiveness, which works very well. It’s a great display and one that matches the HTC Mini One, which set a new standard for...

A good-looking smartphone and a great screen, but the P2 has some performance niggles

Huawei Ascend P2 Review: In Depth

"beautiful and stylish phone..i love it! I would recommend it to anyone."

Great screen ; Slim, attractive body ; Affordable 4G

Buggy interface ; No microSD card ; 1GB RAM

That’s a shame considering Huawei is positioning the Ascend P2 as a more affordable LTE handset. If the company had spend a bit more time optimizating and tweaking the software, then it would have had a great mid-range handset on its hands.
