Review Huawei Ascend Y300 Smartphone

Adjusting the price. The Y300 is the cheapest Ascend device from

Price; Android 4.1; Extreme battery runtime

Build quality could be better; Insufficient performance; Camera; Limited internal storage

The retail price of 149 Euros (~$194) is very fair for the provided hardware. You get a current version of Android and a very versatile smartphone.

Great phone, horrible support

I would give this phone 5 stars for design and features, but since there is no support to be had I'd give it 0 stars. So as a compromise it gets 3 in the hopes that maybe Huawei Device USA will start helping their American customers.

Beautiful screen, responsive hardware, well constructed. For the price this is an incredible handset running Android 4.1 with all the features expected in its much pricier competitors

The Emotion UI forgoes the app "drawer" common to Android and places every app on one of the home screens. They can be moved to folders, or placed on any one of the 5-9 "pages" to get them out of the way ; There is absolute NO support from Huawei...

Another affordable handset sneaks out of Huawei

Low price point ; 5MP camera ; microSD slot ; Clear screen

Emoition UI annoying ; Slow speeds ; Poor keyboard layout ; Wi-Fi issues

Huawei Ascend Y300

A cheap Android phone with its eye on the budget buyer.

Good value ; Decent screen, bar reflections

Limited internal storage ; Some lag ; Not the most intuitive UI

Five usable, but hardly dynamic, themes come pre-installed. You can download a few more from the Emotion UI website, but they’re labelled as being for the Ascend P1, so few will realise this. It should be a fun, defining feature of the Emotion UI, but...

A very cheap Android phone with no major flaws

Huawei Ascend Y300 review

The Huawei Ascend Y300 might have a plain design and its processor isn't going to win any races, but it's saved by a decent screen and ridiculously cheap price. If you're looking for a slice of Android on the cheap, the Y300 should be first on your list.

Super cheap price ; Decent screen ; Recent version of Android

Less than 1GB of storage for apps ; Dull design ; Unimpressive performance ; Annoying Huawei software tweaks

The Huawei Ascend Y300 really isn't going to appeal to those of you looking for a stylish, high-performance phone. If your budget is more modest and you only want a phone for the essential day to day tasks, the Y300 is definitely worth a look. For the...
