Huawei Honor 6 Plus review: A great, affordable phone with outdated software

A big screen and a solid camera make the Honor 6 Plus a great mid-range phone, but its outdated software seriously lets it down.

The Huawei Honor 6 Plus' big, bold screen is great for video, its processor handles most tasks well and its camera takes shots that are ideal for Facebook.

It's running a version of Android several iterations out of date and the custom interface on top makes the phone not only awkward to use, but also often sluggish to navigate.

With its good screen, strong processor and solid camera, the Honor 6 Plus is well-equipped for most all the social-networking fun you could want and doesn't ask for much cash in return. It's a shame about its clunky, outdated software, though, which...

Huawei Honor 6 Plus black

Now, here's where it gets confusing: though Honor as a separate brand is supposed to exist only in Europe, the Honor 6 Plus has been on sale since December 2014 in China, but sold as the Huawei Honor 6 Plus. What's more, Huawei does sell phones in...

Honor 6 Plus Smartphone Review

Are two better than one? The key feature of the Honor 6+ is the dual-camera of the smartphone. HTC tried this in the past as well and failed miserably, but the Chinese do a better job. The 6+ also convinces with a good set of features as well as great...

Good list of features, Good display, Expandable storage, Radiation levels, Fast system performance, Good cameras, Great runtimes

Limited WiFi range, No 800 MHz LTE, Slow microSD slot, Weak speaker, SoC throttling under load

The Honor 6+ from Huawei’s subsidiary is a successful smartphone, which does have a good camera, but the high-contrast display and the great battery runtimes are even more convincing. The list of features is pretty comprehensive and lacks just a few...

Huawei Honor 6 Plus Review

After a few weeks of use, one thing is clear: with the Honor 6 Plus, Huawei isn't messing around. While this device will not be released internationally* - nor will it be coming to the United States - Huawei has delivered a smartphone that's worthy of...

Is the dual-focus system enough to provide a stand-out experience? Not really. If we’re deciding between this smartphone and similar high-end devices from HTC, Samsung, LG, and Sony, the Honor 6 Plus wouldn’t be first on the list – or second. This...

Huawei Honor 6 Plus review - the best phone you've probably never heard of

Honor may be Huawei's e-commerce brand, but the company is making waves and the Honor 6 Plus aims to do this by bringing phablet-like flagship specs with a mid-range price. Is it any good though?

At a price of £299 ( approx . $450), the Honor 6 Plus is probably the best phone in the mid-range. It offers the specifications and experience of the premium Ascend Mate 7 but swaps the metal build for plastic and glass at a 40% reduction in price.

Huawei Honor 6 Plus review

Are you wondering how one of Huawei's most recent Honor smartphones stands up to the competition? We find that out, and more, in our comprehensive review of the Huawei Honor 6 Plus!

Great design, simplistically elegant ; Dual SIM setup co-ops the microSD card slot ; Display is vivid and enjoyable to use ; HiSilicon 925 proves itself once again as a high end processor ; Emotion UI one of the best Asian operating systems out there

Few extra features outside the obvious (no NFC) ; Lack of Google Play Services cripples Google-centric users ; Battery life tends to hit the one day mark despite larger size ; Camera is a good performer, just not standout in quality ; Dual optics setup...

Honor 6 Plus review: powerful device in a solid, simple body [hands-on]

The Honor wing of Huawei has proven it can deliver solid performance on a rock-bottom budget (see our Honor Holly review ), and now it's fighting for a share of the upper end of the smartphone market with the Honor 6 Plus . The 6 Plus improves on the...

The Honor 6 Plus makes a good first impression, offering some truly high-end specs. The sensible zinc alloy chassis doesn't grab the eye at first, but seeing as the phone will only be available to buy online, it's not necessarily aimed at those looking...

Honor 6 Plus

Honor is the sister brand of ascending Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Huawei, and its new flagship phone, the Honor 6 Plus, is the brand's first real statement of intent in the UK and Europe.

Solid construction ; Capable camera ; Excellent value ; Solid battery life ; Great screen

Minor performance lag ; May be a touch chunky for some
