Honor 7X Smartphone Review

6-inch 18:9 Android for $199. Honor has taken a page out of the current crop of flagship smartphones to deliver one of the most compelling Android smartphones yet for under $200 USD. Update: GPS and camera tests added

relatively accurate colors and high contrast ; thin design, high screen-to-body ratio ; fast fingerprint reader ; dual-SIM w/ MicroSD ; very inexpensive ; 18:9 FHD display

CPU and GPU performance benefits are minimal over the Honor 6X ; apparent brightness drops if not facing directly at the screen ; slow display response times; more ghosting ; no CDMA version for Sprint or Verizon ; no NFC, IR, 802.11ac, or Wi-Fi...

Android smartphones in the $200 to $250 USD range are quite common from Chinese manufacturers like Leagoo, Xiaomi, Bluboo, Oppo, and Vivo. What makes the Honor 7X so special compared to the deluge of other cheap alternatives is the harder worldwide...

Honor 7X Review

The Honor 7X was released in the USA on December 5 2017 and was initially geared towards the lower-midrange market ($150-$250). At publishing time,...

Good build quality ; Large display ; Functional bokeh camera ; Aggressively priced

No luxurious glass texture

Honor 7x Review: This $200 phone surprised me

Over the past couple of weeks I've had the $200 smartphone Honor 7x in my pocket. This smartphone's surprised me - and not only because it's rather feature-full for its price. This phone's surprised me because it's doing what OnePlus said it'd do when...

$200 price tag is surprisingly low ; Industrial design is on-point (and pretty familiar) ; Camera is pretty good in decent lighting ; Battery lasts well beyond a full day

Software is swift, but needs some customization ; No USB-C (still on micro-USB) ; One year later, STILL no NFC

Honor 7X review: The most phone you can get for under $200

The Honor 7X may be priced like a budget phone, but with an 18:9 screen, slim-bezel design, and all-metal enclosure, you might mistake it for a premium one.

Brilliant 18:9 display rivals phones priced four times as much. ; Camera app is packed with features and options. ; Kirin processor keeps apps and games humming.

MicroUSB port is a pain to use. ; Camera quality hasn't improved much over the 6X.

If you're on a strict budget and don't mind microUSB, the Honor 7X should definitely be on your shortlist of handsets. Keep in mind that it's an international unlocked phone, so Verizon and Sprint customers are out of luck (and anytime soon). But if it...

Honor 7X review

The Honor 7X looks better than phones costing twice as much, and performs just as well too.

Amazing price ; Beautiful style ; Comfortable to hold ; Good camera ; Big, 18:9 aspect ratio screen

No NFC for Android Pay ; MicroUSB feels a little 2016 ; No Android 8.0 at launch

Taken only at face value, the good-looking Honor 7X doesn’t appear to be a $200 smartphone. Add in a decent, fun-feature packed camera, solid performance, and a great screen, and you’ll question the price even more. Yet it does only cost a bargain $200.

Honor 7X review: Better than its predecessor and priced 20 percent less

Earlier this year I posted a full review of the Honor 6X and we now have its successor that offers a better processor, improved dual rear cameras, and large 18:9 display at a price $50 less than the Honor 6X. It's one of my best cheap smartphones for...

High quality design, fit, and finish ; 18:9 display and minimal bezels ; Portrait mode for rear and front cameras ; Fairly stock EMUI 5.1 UI ; Extremely low price ; MicroSD expansion card ; Long battery life

No NFC for wireless payments ; No water resistance

Huawei Honor 7X

The Huawei Honor 7X is an excellent unlocked phone that boasts flagship-level features at an affordable $200 price.

Affordable. Sleek build. Crisp edge-to-edge screen. Solid overall performance. Capable dual cameras.

Average battery. No dual-band Wi-Fi or USB-C. Heavy UI layer.

At $200, the Honor 7X is priced similarly to the Moto G5 Plus. It has a sleek build that incorporates a tall, 18:9 aspect ratio to maximize screen real estate, along with solid overall performance, and decent camera capabilities. The G5 Plus,...

Honor 7X review: A solid budget phone... albeit, with some compromises

In a world filled with super expensive flagship phones sometimes a decent budget minded phone shines through. The Honor 7X is one of those gems albeit with some compromises that likely won't matter to a budget-minded buyer.

Slim and attractive design ; Very nice display for a budget phone ; Good battery life ; Solid build quality for its price

Camera is budget quality ; There are some lag issues throughout various apps

Budget phones aren’t all created equal. All budget phones are going to come with some compromises, and the Honor 7X has its fair share. But I do think this is one of the best budget phones on the market right now, and it has more plusses than it does...

Honor 7X Review

Huawei's budget-friendly Honor sub-brand has released the follow-up to the 6X – its fiercely competitive mid-range offering – the Honor 7X. Now sporting a body constructed entirely of aluminum, the 7X steps up the class factor from its...

Great looks and build quality ; 18:9 screen under $200 ; Fluid, prompt performance

No USB-C; no fast charging ; Camera becomes very temperamental in low-light ; EMUI 5.1 isn’t very good-looking

Honor 7X Review: The Next Great Smartphone Value

No $200 smartphone is perfect, but the Honor 7X is a jack of all trades not a perfectionist. It's arguably the best balance of design, performance and features in its class, even if its rivals do certain things a little better. The $229 Moto G5 Plus...

Extra-wide 18:9 display ; Minimal bezels ; Solid performance ; Headphone jack ; Very low price

No Android 8.0 at launch ; Dated UI ; microUSB port ; No NFC or water resistance ; Subpar battery life

The Honor 7X condenses the full-screen experience down to an affordable package, making for one of the best-value phones of the year.
