Huawei Honor 8 review

Huawei's Honor 8 is the definition of a 'flagship killer' and a steal at $400.

Huawei has achieved what amounts to a supply chain miracle: it’s crammed nearly every high-end component of the P9, a phone that retails for well north of $600 unlocked, into a handset half the price: $400 for 32GB and $450 for 64GB. That’s deserving...

Huawei Honor 8

The Huawei Honor 8 is a stylish unlocked Android handset with some unique features, but it faces stiff competition at its midrange price point.

Attractive. Sharp dual-sensor camera performance. Fingerprint scanner doubles as programmable key. Includes IR blaster, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and fast charging.

Mediocre battery life. Heavy UI layer causes occasional performance hiccups. Slippery, fingerprint-prone design.

Conclusions The Huawei Honor 8 is an attractive unlocked phone with solid overall performance and some cool features you don't commonly see. But there's lots of competition in this price range. The Moto G4 is compatible with all major US carriers,...

Huawei Honor 8 Review – Yet Another Great Mid-range Phone

Huawei generally keeps their Huawei-branded phones out of the United States — no P9 or Mate phones for us. What we do get are their Nexus devices and the phones sold under their Honor brand. Huawei's Honor phones tend to be priced as midrange devices,...

Honor 8 review: A new competitor in the U.S.

After seeing considerable growth and brand awareness in Europe, Honor is properly launching itself in the U.S. with this, the Honor 8. It is the true embodiment of what Honor is capable of right now, and it's launching in the States right on cue with...

Fantastic screen ; Long battery life ; Great specs for $399 ; Awesome fingerprint sensor

EMUI still has room to improve ; Entirely average speaker ; Proprietary fast charging ; Camera hit or miss in low light

Before even approaching the pricing of the Honor 8, this is a really great phone. Externally, it's slick and can grab eyes with a few subtle design features while also feeling solid and built with high tolerances. The metal and glass protect really...

Huawei Honor 8

2016 continues as the year of the affordable but really good Android phone, particularly unlocked models that are sold direct and via retailers rather than carriers. There's the OnePlus 3, Alcatel Idol 4S, ZTE Axon 7, the Moto G4/G4 Plus and now the...

Fantastic looks and design quality. Lovely display, pleasing cameras, has the rare IR blaster AV remote. One of the few smaller good quality phones on the market

CPU performance can't keep up with OnePlus 3, though it's not a slow phone

The Huawei Honor 8 is a gorgeous looking smartphone with solid performance, a vivid and bright display and good cameras. It's wonderful that we can get a phone for $400 that looks this good and checks the boxes for so many important features. The...
