Huawei P10 Plus Smartphone Review

Boosted performance? Huawei's P10 Plus is the larger and better equipped sibling of Huawei's P10 high-end smartphone that achieved "Very Good" in our rating. Will the 5.5-inch P10 Plus do an even better job? We put it to the test.

elegant design, high-quality casing ; very fast SoC ; 128 GB UFS 2.1 storage ; expandable storage ; 6 GB RAM ; very good Leica dual camera ; very bright WQHD screen ; long battery life ; good stereo speakers ; quick charge via SuperCharge ; up to 3...

storage is a game of chance ; firmware reserves a lot of storage ; no App2SD ; slow Wi-Fi ; moderate micro-SD transfer rates ; throttling during load

As with the 5.1-inch Huawei's P10, there is not much to criticize in the larger 5.5-inch Huawei P10 Plus. The P10 Plus also comes with abundant high-end components - starting with the impeccably built casing over the UFS 2.1 storage and LTE Cat.12 up...

Huawei P10 Plus review: The P10's impressive big-screen brother

Huawei has a solid reputation as a smartphone maker, and while the company used to lack the profile to make it a truly leading player, that time has passed. These days Huawei's name is well known, and the launch of the P10 and the larger P10 Plus at...

Solidly built ; Plenty of RAM and MicroSD-expandable storage ; Excellent dual rear camera system ; Clever gesture controls ; Great battery life

Screen is a fingerprint magnet ; Moderate sound quality ; No IP rating for water/dust resistance ; No wireless charging support

Huawei P10 Plus Review

Scandal's a funny thing for smartphones. Sometimes a phone bounces right off a controversy without batting an eye – just look at how all the antennagates and bendgates failed to derail iPhone sales. Other times the impact is much more substantial, and...

Versatile, powerful camera ; Fast performance, ample storage/memory ; Great stereo sound ; Speedy fingerprint scanner w/ useful gesture controls

Huawei's display quality issues continue ; Build doesn't feel particularly robust ; No waterproofing ; Camera performance not always consistent

The Huawei P10 Plus is a totally decent phone: it's got brisk performance, a camera that's more flexible than most, and a big, high-res screen. But at the same time, it's also a phone that's really difficult to feel very passionately for.

Huawei P10 Plus Review

The Huawei P10 Plus was announced alongside the standard sized P10, the latest flagship mobile phones from the company. It builds on the success of last year's P9, with its most interesting (for photographers) feature being its dual-camera setup, which...

Once again Huawei has made much of the fact that the P10 Plus' camera has been co-engineered with Leica. While it is a perfectly decent performing camera, the hyperbole that comes attached with this association means that once again it doesn’t quite...

Huawei P10 Plus review: has it gone off the P10 path?

The Huawei P10 Plus represents a solid evolution over last year's fantastic P9, but the company has also made a few missteps in its quest to be on top.

The P10 Plus is two steps forward and one step back for Huawei, it must be said. You’ve got a phone that delivers flagship-level camera quality, brisk performance and sturdy build quality. But you’ve also got a new take on user navigation that just...

Huawei P10 Plus review

The P10 Plus is Huawei's best phone ever, and a rival for the iPhone 7+ and Galaxy S8. It's superfast, ultraslim, has a top camera, massive amounts of memory, and good battery life. But the Chinese brand has overreached when it comes to pricing, and...

The P10 Plus is a conundrum. It's a serious challenger to the iPhone 7 Plus and the Galaxy S8/S8+, and has a lot to recommend it. It's as fast as you could want, with a top camera, masses of memory, and a nice screen. It's slim and looks good. But the...

Huawei P10 Plus hands-on review: finally a mini Mate 9

2016 gave us the P9 Plus. This year, we get the P10 Plus. With its 5.5-inch size, it turns out to be larger than its younger brother, the Huawei P10. It also differs from the smaller model in the design of the main camera, faster 4G LTE connectivity...

The P10 Plus offers an obvious added value compared to its predecessor and its younger brother, the P10. We were able to see that the camera can take pictures more vivid and rich in detail thanks to the new stabilization and software improvements. 4G...

Huawei P10 Plus review

The kind of phone you'll like, but never love

Dual Leica cameras are fun ; Beautiful, bright QHD screen ; Ninety billion color options

Overpriced and outclassed ; Navigation key is badly designed ; Not available in the US

In isolation, this is a really good phone. But in comparison with what else is on the market, its proposition falls apart. It’s not the best in the flagship price category, and there are phones offering almost as much that cost less. You can do better.

Huawei P10 Plus review: a power-packed big screen superphone to reckon with

Although it won't be to everyone's taste, the P10 Plus has power to burn and a camera to capture crisp, vibrant shots

Quick, feature-packed cameras ; 128GB of storage as standard ; Fast fingerprint reader ; We like the navigation key

Software still lags behind ; No HDR display ; Not waterproof or dustproof ; Pre-installed apps need slimming down

Huawei P10 Plus review: A gorgeous phone despite the hefty price tag

Huawei's P10 Plus has a bigger and better screen than the regular P10, plus an upgraded camera - but is it worth the extra cost?

Performance ; Build quality and design ; Multipurpose fingerprint reader

Price ; Camera flash ; Battery life

The P10 Plus isn’t a bad phone. Like the regular Huawei P10, it’s a great piece of hardware that’s simply overpriced. As and when the P10 Plus drops in price, I can certainly see myself recommending it. Until then, it’s a phone to admire from afar.
