E-TEN M600

Product Reviews: Eten M600

By Jason Saundalkar

The M600 is also quite light, weighing 165g and with dimensions of 111.7 x 60.7 x 22 mm (W x H x D) it is very practical for road warriors.

With Windows Mobile 5.0, the Eten will prove a useful addition to any business person's repertoire.

PalmOne Treo 650

Product Reviews: PalmOne Treo 650

By Jason Saundalkar

Thanks to its high resolution (320 x 320 pixel) LCD screen, working with the Treo is a joy. It shows very impressive colours and as a phone we found it a breeze to interact with. Its audio quality was sharp and we were also impressed by the device's ...

Though it lacks built-in wireless ethernet, the Treo 650 is still an excellent buy, combining phone and PDA functionality with a great screen on hand too.

HTC Alpine (Mont Blanc) / Qtek 2020i / i-Mate PDA2 / Dopod 696i & Dopod 699 / O2 XDA-IIi / Orange SPV M2500

Product Reviews: i-Mate PDA2

By Jason Saundalkar

The only real downside to this i-mate comes in its size and weight. At 190g it's the heaviest handheld here and neither is it very svelte.

A good buy for those that demand speed and memory, but not really one for users with small pockets (both physically and financially speaking).

HP iPAQ hw6500 (6510,6515)

Product Reviews: HP iPAQ HW6515

By Jason Saundalkar

With Mobile 2003 running the show and a well thought out button layout, the HP is a doddle to use. The volume control and camera capture button are well placed and the PDA's buttons exude quality. 312MHz CPU the iPAQ is quick and will have you zipping ...

With GPS functionality and speedy performance wrapped up in such an attractive and easy-to-use package, this is one iPAQ that's definitely worth owning.

Asus P505

Product Reviews: Asus P505

By Jason Saundalkar

Whether being used as a phone or PDA, the Asus proves its mettle. Calls were clean and sharp, though the P505's speaker lacks real power. Still, with its speedy processor and 64MB of ROM and RAM, it will never have you waiting around.

Not the most stunning looker but this sure is one solidly built PDA. It's also very easy-to-use as a standard cell phone thanks to its flip out keypad. Asus, well done.

Everex E900

Using the Everex to make phone calls, send and receive SMS and MMS messages was simple process and thus we reckon this handheld could easily act as your main phone and PDA, rather than just a back-up handset. Its button placement is well thought out ...

With its rich feature list, compact size and very reasonable price, Everex's new high-end PDA, the E900 Pocket PC, is a vast improvement over its predecessor.

Sony Ericsson W800

Value-wise US $452 (AED 1,659) for 534MB of memory equates to $0.8 per megabyte. It'll be interesting now to see how that compares with Motorola's forthcoming iTunes phone and Nokia's more pricey N91, which promises to pack in 4GB.

Rocking sound quality, stunning autofocus camera, Memory Stick Pro Duo included, intuitive user interface.

Supplied headphones lack quality.

At present, this quality piece of kit is the music phone to beat, but whether it will still be ahead after Motorola and Nokia launch their models remains to be seen.

Motorola MPx220

Product Reviews: Motorola MPx220

By Jason Saundalkar

Perhaps the most limiting factor for this Motorola is the fact that it lacks a miniature QWERTY keyboard. As this is the case, making notes and keying in data is quite a long drawn out process. This certainly doesn't help productivity when on the move ...

Good call quality, camera includes flash, solid build quality, quad-band ready

Quite unintuitive, dull ring tones, pricey, small LCD

While the Motorola MPx220 certainly has its fair share of features, the small LCD and sometimes-clunky interface prevent it from being a shining star. It's also pricier than i-mate's SP3.

HTC Typhoon / Qtek 8010 / i-Mate SmartPhone3 / Dopod 565 / Orange SPV C500

Product Reviews: i-mate SP3

By Jason Saundalkar

As an everyday mobile phone, the SP3 performs well. SMS and MMS functions are easy to use while audio clarity remains top notch even in areas with relatively low signal reception. The SP3 also has fairly strong battery life with our everyday use ...

Tons of features, 2.5 hours talk time, relatively compact, lightweight

No external slot for mini SD card

The SP3 is a great follow up product to the older SP2. Besides offering smaller dimensions, a long list of features and strong battery life, it is extremly easy to use.
