LG Ally review

You know, not every smartphone has to be putting down maxed-out hardware. That's a lesson that Nokia is certainly taking to heart, concentrating many of

Simple design ; WVGA display at a low price ; Loud, clear speakerphone

Mediocre custom skin ; LG apps and widgets add little value ; Weird keyboard layout

LG Ally (Verizon Wireless)

The LG Ally aggregates Facebook and Twitter updates, and it's also a powerful Android phone at a low price.

Excellent voice quality. Runs Android 2.1. Sharp camera.

Sluggish CPU. Screen is a little small. Subpar voice dialing app.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions LG throws in a 4GB microSD card; my 16GB SanDisk card worked fine in the side-mounted slot. There's also 126MB of free internal storage. The top-mounted headphone jack accepts standard-size 3.5mm plugs. Music tracks...

LG Ally (Verizon Wireless) review

Though LG has made Android phones for a while, they were always for the European and Asian markets. The LG Ally, however, marks the first LG Android phone to hit U.S. shores. There's nothing too new with the Ally, but we think LG did a great job here....

The LG Ally is a sturdy device with Android 2.1. It has a great slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Features include GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and EV-DO Rev. A.

The photo quality could be better, and it doesn't come with Verizon's V Cast apps.

With its solid design and great features, the LG Ally is an affordable and welcome addition to the Android family.

LG Ally

The LG Ally most resembles the LG enV Touch but forfeits a flip-up screen to expose an internal display, in favor of a slide-up screen that reveals a full QWERTY keyboard. Like the enV Touch, the LG Ally sports a 3.2-megapixel camera, and since it also...

LG Ally VS740 Review

When the Motorola DROID A855 and HTC DROID ERIS ADR6200 were introduced by Verizon Wireless last year, some people were cautious about calling it a success…at first, as those were the first two Android phones for the carrier. But over the weeks and...

LG Ally Review

The LG Ally is LG's first ever Android handset to be released in the U.S. Though LG has had a market in Europe and Asia with Android phones, the LG Ally offered through Verizon is their first break through Android phone. This review covers the design,...

Overall, for a $99 smartphone, the LG Ally is a solid 'Good' ranking Android powered handset. Though not as powerful as other smartphones, the LG Ally doesn't need the impressive specs for their target audience. Android 2.1 runs fairly smoothly and the...

I Am Iron Meh: LG Ally Review

For better or worse, my final thoughts on the LG Ally are much like the phone itself: boring. In a time where a new Android ‘superphone' seems to be announced every other week, it's hard to get worked up over a mid-range handset. However, if you're not...

LG Ally Review

The LG Ally is a great device which has a solid design and a lot of desireable features for an Android Device. Running Android 2.1 Eclair, this phone does nothing less than impress. On the outside, it may seem plain, but once you get your hands on the...

LG Ally Review

The LG Ally is a mid-range smartphone with Google's Android OS recently released by Verizon Wireless. Jen Edwards brings us a review of a device that features a sliding keyboard, WVGA screen, 4 GB of storage capacity, and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
