In the last six months, LG and Cingular have gotten to know each other well. Beyond just dabbling in GSM phones as it has done in the past, LG introduced seven new Cingular handsets this year, including the LG F700 ; the carrier's first push-to-talk...

The LG CG225 offers clear call quality, a simple VGA camera, and world roaming in a compact, unassuming design.

The LG CG225's volume level for regular and speakerphone calls is somewhat low, the inner display has a low resolution, and there's no self-portrait mirror.

The LG CG225 is neither terrible nor remarkable, but better midrange handsets are in Cingular's lineup.

LG CG225 (AT&T)

The LG CG300 has a VGA camera, PTT functionality, Bluetooth, a spacious keypad, and a speakerphone with great audio quality. Plus, it's a quad-band world phone and enjoys admirable talk-time battery life.

The LG CG300's external screen doesn't display photo caller ID, and its design is rather boring.

The only Cingular push-to-talk phone to have a camera (thus far), the LG CG300 is a decent choice for a midrange cell phone with international capability.
