LG KC910 Renoir review: Portrait of a high-flyer

The LG KC910 has a moniker that sends out a bold and clear statement about talent. Packing a whopping 8 megapixel camera and top-of-the-line video recording, the LG KC910 Renoir is all about capturing the moment, leaving an impression...

Tri-band/Quad-band GSM versions, dual-band HSDPA ; 3" 256K-color touchscreen TFT display (240 x 400 pixels) ; 8 megapixel autofocus camera, xenon flash (geo-tagging, face tracking, blink detection, touch focus, manual focus) ; Video recording in AVI...

Xenon flash is inadequately powered and causes the camera to underexpose ; Fullscreen camera viewfinder doesn't show the entire frame ; No video streaming over Wi-Fi (such as the mobile YouTube) ; No Java connection over Wi-Fi (so Google Maps needs a...

The exciting facts and figures from the Renoir specs sheet however won't really give away its real-life performance and this is where we step in. We already had the camera performance of the LG Renoir to bits in our 8 megapixel cameraphone shootout but...

LG KC910 Renoir Review

The first 8 Megapixel camera handset manufactured by LG, KC910 Renoir is one of the few of its kind that can be found on the market. Competing directly with Samsung's M8800 Pixon, which also features an 8 Megapixel camera and touchscreen interface,...

Besides its exquisite design, LG Renoir features one of the best cameras on the market, I guess on par with Samsung's Pixon. Another good feature of the phone is the improved Flash UI, which raises its functionality. I also found Renoir more stable...

The unusable GPS and the fast draining battery are the main cons of the phone. A much better CPU would've made the device run snappier

LG Renoir KC910 review

Promising top-quality photos with its 8-megapixel camera, this mobile offers much more than picture perfect snapping

8-megapixel camera ; Touchscreen control ; 3G HSDPA ; Wi-Fi ; A-GPS location finding technology ; Extensive digital camera-style controls ; Music player with Dolby Mobile audio processing ; 8GB memory card supplied ; Good quality video recording ;...

No smartphone capability ; Could have more A-GPS Sat Nav software ; Earphone socket arrangement ; Motion-controlled games limited ; Widgets are limited ; Lots of potentially battery-sapping features ; Google apps not available on all networks versions

We liked using the phone. Its touchscreen interface is comfortable and well constructed, even if it's not as slick as the iPhone's. For a mobile packed with such an array of features, though, the lack of a smartphone OS for customisation could be...

GOOD GEAR GUIDE - EDITOR'S CHOICE

LG Renoir (KC910)

The long-awaited successor to LG's previous flagship model, the Viewty, the Renoir picks up where the Viewty left off by adding even more features to ...

8-megapixel camera, excellent touch-screen interface, HSDPA-capable, Wi-Fi, GPS display quality

Look and feel won't appeal to everyone, scrolling isn't natural or smooth, on-screen keyboard a little small, no 3.5mm headphone jack, call quality could be improved

Although it isn't perfect, the Renoir is undoubtedly the best camera phone we've ever reviewed. The touch-screen interface is excellent and it is packed with most of the latest features.

LG Renoir KC910 mobile phone - Pocket-lint

The first thing you have to decide with the LG KC910 is whether you are going to view it as the successor to the Viewty or an iPhone killer. The latter

8MP camera, DivX video viewing and Dolby sound

Interface is a wee bit clunky, on-screen keyboard not always accurate, no 3.5mm jack

Ok so the interface is not that sophisticated but this really is a great phone. The pictures from the camera were comparable to those I have shot on 5MP plus digital cameras, and the editing tools worked. But it was with the video and music playback...
