LG Nitro HD

And then there were three. AT&T's lonesome LTE duo -- the Samsung GS II Skyrocket and HTC Vivid -- just gained a new member with the recent launch of LG's Nitro HD. You may recognize this particular handset from its former life as the Optimus LTE,...

Stunning AH-IPS display ; Lightweight build ; Blazing LTE / HSPA+ 21 Mbps speeds

Poor battery life ; Uninspiring design ; Occasional performance hiccups

LG's Nitro HD adds more choice for consumers looking to experience 4G LTE on AT&T. It's a solid phone crippled mainly by subpar battery performance.

LG Nitro HD review: Live in HD

The LG Nitro HD for AT&T Wireless comes with some seriously heavy expectations to meet. It was back in August, when we first reported about the award winning AH-IPS screen with HD resolution, developed by LG. The unit is reportedly better than anything...

Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support ; 21 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 HSUPA support ; LTE network connectivity ; 4.5" 16M-color AH-IPS LCD touchscreen with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution; 326ppi ; Android OS v2.3.5 with LG custom launcher ; 1.5 GHz...

No dedicated camera button ; Battery performance is questionable ; LG’s custom UI might not fit all tastes

It’s been a good while since we last saw a flagship from LG. The Korean giant took its sweet time with the Nitro HD to make sure it got everything right. And on most accounts, this is the very case.

LG Nitro HD (AT&T)

The LG Nitro HD offers AT&T users blazing LTE data speeds and scorching dual-core performance, along with an incredible 720p display.

High-res 720p display. Super-fast LTE data speeds. Dual-core CPU.

Limited AT&T LTE network coverage (at the moment). Average camera.

Compared to the Skyrocket in a number of head-to-head tests, the Nitro fell slightly behind. The Skyrocket often pulled in speeds about 1Mbps greater than the Nitro, both up and down. And the Skyrocket reported better signal strength as well, which may...

LG Nitro HD (AT&T) review:

Cast your mind back to a profoundly great LG phone from 2011. Are you drawing a blank? Exactly. LG has released more than just a handful of Android phones in 2011 , but the phone maker has never produced a carrier's alpha Android handset. The LG Nitro...

The LG Nitro HD has a stunning 4.5-inch HD display, 1080p HD video, an 8-megapixel camera, and support for 4G LTE. There's a 1.3-megapixel camera for video chats.

There's a pronounced camera shutter lag on the Nitro HD, and the battery drained faster than it should have.

With its gorgeous display, high-def everything, and 4G speeds, the LG Nitro HD has what it takes to compete; however, a few flaws keep it from trampling the competition.

LG Nitro HD vs Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket

Colliding head first towards one another, there's no arguing that it was bound to happen – especially now that AT&T is finally in the game with its 4G LTE network. As we've seen in our recent review of the Nitro HD, it has the hardware and balanced...

LG Nitro HD Review

Read our full review of the LG Nitro HD, which takes advantage of AT&T's 4G LTE network and provides a 720p resolution display

High Definition screen ; Fantastic feel in the hand ; Solid build quality by LG ; 1080p video recording ; 8MP Camera ; Extremely fast AT&T LTE data speeds ; Fantastic speeds when over home Wi-Fi compared to Galaxy Nexus

LCD screen ; AT&T's LTE coverage is not nationwide yet ; Battery dies quickly despite large 1830mAh size

The LG Nitro HD offers a great package of features in a form factor that is extremely comfortable to hold in the hand.

Review: LG Nitro HD for AT&T

The LG Nitro HD is one of the first handful of Android smartphones able to use AT&T's Long Term Evolution 4G network and packs a gorgeous high-def display. Here is Phone Scoop's full review.

The LG Nitro HD comes very close to earning a "very good" rating from me, but will have to settle for "good." The reason is mostly due to the exceedingly poor voice performance. Even though we use our smartphones more for data-centric tasks, the phone...

LG Nitro HD Review - Android Phone Reviews by MobileTechReview

The LG Nitro HD is AT&T's third 4G LTE smartphone. LTE is considerably faster than 4G HSPA+ on AT&T, but it's only available in 15 markets as of this writing. Like the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and HTC Vivid AT&T LTE phones, the Nitro HD packs high...

4G LTE, fast phone with 720p display

Short battery life

There's a lot to like about the LG Nitro HD, and it's not an easy choice if you're looking for a 4G LTE phone on AT&T. The IPS display is sharp, colorful and bright with excellent viewing angles, the phone feels good in hand and it's fast. The rear...

"I wouldn't pay for this phone!"

I can't go out to lunch and check emails and use internet or music apps if I'm working out or waiting in line. Camera isn't 3D which kind of bummed me out. The back cover has weird ridges on it. I would never buy this phone, it was a replacement for my...

Camera is ok but for what I had before and for this to be an "upgrade," is a whole lot of nonsense. This phone was sent to me as a replacement to my LG Thrill which they deemed as an upgrade. AT&T also revoked my insurance.

My Thrill got internet everywhere and this thing can't get it once I go far enough away from my house! I can't use any of the apps that use internet which is almost all of them. I also don't like the back part of the cover..it has weird ridges in it.
