LG Rumor2

With an improved backlit QWERTY keyboard, the Rumor2 is a satisfactory messaging phone with GPS navigation.

The $49.99 LG Rumor2 is a compelling device for messaging fans, and we like the enhanced keyboard and e-mail support. Having GPS onboard is another plus. Overall we prefer the Samsung Rant because it offers 3G data and a better interface for the same...

LG Rumor 2 (Sprint)

The LG Rumor 2 for Sprint isn't a bad messaging phone, it's just that the same-price Samsung Rant is much better.

Sharp screen. Solid e-mail program. Comfortable keyboard. Excellent battery life.

No 3G support. Lacks Sprint's One Click interface. No video recording or playback.

LG Rumor2 review: LG Rumor2

The LG Rumor2 has an easy-to-use design with a vibrant display and a spacious keyboard. It offers solid call quality and extensive e-mail and messaging support.

With a low-res camera and no 3G support, the LG Rumor2 offers no improvements over the original Rumor other than the support for corporate e-mail. The navigation controls and numeric keypad buttons are slick, and the e-mail syncing is unreliable.

The LG Rumor2 is a great option for a messaging phone, but LG missed the opportunity to make it both new and improved.

LG Rumor2 Review

The Rumor was a huge sales success for LG and Sprint, bringing QWERTY to the low end. It was not without issues however; LG's charging port was notoriously bad, the keyboard and display had a tendency to go bad and the device continues to have a power...

The LG Rumor 2 is a below average phone in almost every aspect, its underwhelming performance for a rather steep price tag make this phone a very unlikely buy. The Samsung Rant is an almost identical phone physically, while it comes with 3G, Video...

LG Rumor 2

When the original LG Rumor hit the market back in 2007, it was well received as a spacious and easy-to-use messaging phone. The design and build materials caught a lot of press, and appropriately so, as it was a solid slider geared toward a youthful...

The LG Rumor2 is a stylish, fantastic messaging phone that comes complete with an impressive keyboard. The phone is ridiculously easy to use and a worthwhile purchase.

The LG Banter is an average phone with modest features. This cheap phone lacks the advanced features found on the latest smartphones but it does offer good value for money.

Middle-of-the-road messaging phone for Sprint and Alltel

The LG Rumor2 (*Est. $80) is the updated version of the Rumor (free with new contract) offered by Sprint; it is also sold as the LG Banter (*Est. $20) by Alltel. Although the Rumor2 is discussed by more sources than the Banter, the phones are...

Better design than original Rumor, full QWERTY keyboard, good reception and call quality, support for corporate email

No high-speed 3G network support, lackluster music player, inferior camera
