LG Volt review:

We see a lot of budget smartphones here at CNET (see our roundup of best no-contract phones for $250 or less , for example), and they all straddle that fine line between cutting costs and delivering a satisfying amount of functionality. The LG Volt is...

The LG Volt offers great battery life and LTE connectivity for a paltry sum.

Dull, uninspired hardware and a low-res screen are the causalities of that low price. Call quality is also disappointing.

Affordable LTE connectivity and a long-lasting battery may be hampered by meager call quality, but the low price tag just might sway the right folks.

LG Volt (Boost Mobile)

The LG Volt smartphone shines on Boost Mobile thanks to its beefy battery, Spark LTE compatibility, and affordable price.

Well-built. Android 4.4. Supports Spark LTE. Big battery. Built-in IR emitter

Mediocre display and cameras. Low internal storage

Though far from the electrifying force its name might suggest, the LG Volt is a potent Android smartphone for the price ($179.99) on Boost Mobile. It's essentially a rebranded LG Lucid 3, but Boost bumps the battery capacity up to a whopping 3,000mAh,...

LG Flare LX165 (Virgin Mobile)

The LG Flare is a decent choice for taking advantage of Virgin Mobile's payLo plans, and at under $20 up front, it's a steal.

Good voice quality. Lightweight. Brightly lit numeric keypad.

Terrible battery life. No camera or music player. Bluetooth pairing is needlessly complicated. Proprietary AC adapter.

Plans, Apps, and Conclusions Virgin Mobile's payLo plans for the LG Flare are quite inexpensive. A 1500-minute, one-month plan that includes 500 text messages and a paltry 10MB of Web access costs $30. You can also get a 400-minute plan for $20, or pay...

LG 101 (Virgin Mobile)

Lacking a camera and even Bluetooth, the LG 101 is the most basic of cell phones for Virgin Mobile customers.

Very lightweight. Big number keys.

Terrible screen. No Bluetooth. Short battery life. No camera or music player.

Apps, Multimedia, and Conclusions The home screen is especially ugly, with blurry icons and tiny fonts that look too much alike. The main menu consists of nine icons in a grid pattern. With the LG 101's low resolution and slow data radio, Web browsing...

LG Flare LX175 - black (Virgin Mobile) review: LG Flare LX175 - black (Virgin Mobile)

Virgin Mobile is known for its simple entry-level phones, and the new LG Flare, or LX175, is no exception. The second such LG phone with the carrier--the Aloha was the first--the Flare boils it down to the basics and even lacks a VGA camera. However,...

The Virgin Mobile Flare is a basic entry-level flip phone with a speakerphone, Bluetooth, and voice dialing.

The Virgin Mobile Flare feels a bit cheap, and its speakerphone call quality was so-so.

The Virgin Mobile Flare is a simple, easy-to-use, affordable phone from Virgin Mobile.

LG Volt Sprint prepaid cell phone

I attempted to contact Newegg regarding the RAM deficiency on their '24/7' chat service several times without success.

nice display, easy wireless connectivity, not much 'spam-ware ; Intended use as a mini, android tablet

Although the specs state 8GB RAM, the delivered phone only contains 4GB. Unable to return in 'unopened' condition (had to 'open' package to find the RAM deficiency) ; Unable to 'root' the LG -v5 android OS

Works like a champ

For people who don't utilize a Smartphone 100%, i don't see why they need a more expensive phone than this.

I was surprised by this phone. Bought to be used by my wife. I already own a Moto G (1st Gen) which is considered one of the best budget phones. But this phone is by little better than the Moto G. Bigger screen, SD slot, IR Remote and a lot more...

Great buy

I was surprised how long the battery is lasting without needing a recharge. Even with lots of apps loaded the phone seems to be very responsive when swiping from one screen to another. With sprints 35.00 per month pre-paid plan this make its a better...

battery life is exceptional, display is bright, has nice feel to it. easy to take out of sleep mode with swipe of finger

Update Reviews 10-27-14

Phone features are still at a 5/5. Screen could have held up. 3/5

Same as stated, my opinion of the phone is high and will remain, my newest gripe about the phone is the screen. I seriously dropped it about 6" off the ground. I had the flashlight on, looking at the tire, and just like others have said, this phone us...

After watching the official video about how awesome Gorilla Glass 2 is, and my screen cracked, made me drop a star, but as long as you got a good case, the phone will remain durable
