When the original Samsung Instinct came out 10 months ago, it made quite a splash not only thanks to Sprint's mega-marketing campaign that pitted it against the 2G iPhone but because it packed a lot of features into a touch screen feature phone. ...
Attractive, large display, supports every Sprint service for multimedia and navigation. Good GPS performance
Sprint TV performance is weak, touch screen OS is starting to look clunky compared to other models on the market (notably Samsung's Touch Wiz phones like the Eternity, Impression, Memoir and Behold along with the iPhone). Sorry, no WiFi here
The Instinct S30, like the original Instinct, is a fun phone that's ripe with features. From Sprint TV to GPS to music and web, it's got the goods. More attractive than the original Instinct, the S30 really offers no other incentive to upgrade. EVDO ...

While Nokia has ventured ever-so rarely into touch screen phone territory (we're thinking of the Nokia 7710, the first and last S90 smartphone, dating back to 2005), the iPhone craze seems to have gotten them on their way. Better late than never, as ...
Large, very high resolution display is a joy to use, especially when web browsing, viewing photos and watching videos. Excellent voice quality and reception. Familiarity of S60, yet well on its way in terms of touch optimization. Great video playback ...
In most cases the 5800 requires 5th Edition versions of 3rd party apps (software junkies take note)
Nokia's first touch screen S60 smartphone is a success overall. It's easy to use, fun and has a compelling set of features. Not to mention it has excellent call quality and reception. Nokia could add some polish and abolish those scroll bars, but ...

What's hot: Compact, good keyboard.
Very compact for a touch screen phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. Good keyboard. Reasonably priced for the features it offers
Reception not very strong, user interface inconsistencies make the phone less fun and pleasing (accelerometer works in just a few apps, some apps rotate while others don't, lack of an on-screen QWERTY, scrolling through lists isn't easy)
. Granted these are higher tier phones on Verizon, but we'd like to see more polished software from LG's touch screen phones on AT&T.

Award: Editor's Choice!

Motorola hasn't been looking too strong in the news lately, with flagging numbers, possible spin-offs of the phone division and a general heap of negative hype because they've failed to come up with something as wildly successful as the original RAZR ...
Slim and shiny. Good reception. Good music and streaming video experience. Good GPS performance.
The microSD card slot isn't hot swappable. Battery life could be better.
The Moto Z9 is a hard phone to not like. It's got great looks, a sturdy build with metal casing, it feels good in the hand and has a wealth of useful features. As the first GPS-enabled feature phone on AT&T, the Moto Z9 will be on your short list if ...

The original LG Rumor, released in late October 2007 by Sprint, sold well. It was an affordable texting phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, good looks and a sturdy build. 1.5 years later, Sprint and LG Rumor have released the Rumor 2. The new ...
Sleeker and cooler looking than the original Rumor. Awesome keyboard and very good reception. Good messaging support and reasonable GPS performance
Not much change from the original Rumor. Voice quality isn't very good. No EVDO. Battery life has decreased from the original. Can't record video. No AAC support for music playback
The LG Rumor 2 feels like the original Rumor in sleeker clothing. While we dig the roomier keyboard with its added number row and the higher resolution screen, we find the phone largely remains similar to the original Rumor. For budget-minded texting ...

Party time, photography buffs! The Samsung Memoir t929 is the first 8 megapixel camera phone offered by a US carrier. T-Mobile has scored this impressive camera phone, and the only downside is it makes the 5 megapixel Samsung Behold released just 3 ...
Very good touch screen experience, attractive camera-like design, looks high quality. Has 3G and a good web browser by feature phone standards. The TouchWiz software includes a large selection of widgets (more than the Behold) and they're actually ...
Call voice quality through handset is mediocre. T-Mobile's data plan is expensive if you wish to access the Net and the data connection is proxied through a gateway. Limited email account support
The Samsung Memoir should be one of the hottest phones of 2009. It has a wonderful touch screen interface courtesy of Samsung's TouchWiz user interface and the large haptic display. The camera is superb and it's the fastest autofocus we've seen on a ...

The Pantech Duo was one of the first budget Windows Mobile smartphones-- I don't mean one that got discounted after 6 months or a year on the market but rather it was low-priced from day one. You get what you pay for, or sometimes a little more thanks ...
Relatively small, reasonably attractive, very good reception, good GPS, great audio quality over Bluetooth A2DP stereo. Very usable keyboard given the small size-- good tactile feedback
Voice quality is good overall, but our test unit's call quality sometimes randomly degraded. No WiFi. Slippery and shows fingerprints like mad. Number pad impossible to use for blind dialing
discounted since they've been on the market a while, the Matrix Pro is a harder sell given the similar feature set and price difference. But for those who don't want a QWERTY bar smartphone and prefer a slider, or better yet dual slider design, the ...

Known to Europeans as the Nokia 7510 Supernova, this GSM flip phone now makes its US appearance on T-Mobile. Introduced at 2009 CES, the T-Mo version of the Nokia 7510 joins a wide selection of low end Nokia phones and higher end ones like the Nokia ...
Good looking phone, slim and sturdy. Good reception and voice quality. UMA calling is a huge plus for those who talk a lot on the phone but don't want to use up their mobile minutes. Great media player for music and video playback. Excellent speaker ...
The keypad is too slippery and flat for fast typing or blind dialing. Wi-Fi drains battery very fast. Currently no way to get Opera Mini and Google Maps running. T-Mobile download portal is sometimes flaky
It's good to see T-Mobile adding a little pizzazz to its feature phone line. The Nokia 7510 has the right ingredients for a low-priced phone: it's quad band, has a cool faceplate design, excellent voice quality and a good media player for music and ...

In April 2008, we reviewed the E-TEN Glofiish X650; the X610 is its newer cousin. Though the X610 loses the X650's VGA display, it gains Windows Mobile 6.1 (vs. 6.0) and an improved industrial design. Like all E-TEN Glofiish Windows Mobile ...
Slim and relatively light, very good call quality, good RF, strong WiFi with good companion software
Battery life, slow camera, confusing software, lack of hardware buttons, video playback is just OK
Slim and relatively light, very good call quality, good RF, strong WiFi with good companion software.
