Motorola Droid 2 Global (white, Verizon Wireless)

Verizon now offers two Android world phones: the Motorola Droid Pro and the Motorola Droid 2 Global. The latter builds on the Droid 2, which was released in mid-August, with, of course, world-roaming capabilities as well as enhanced enterprise features...

The Motorola Droid 2 Global offers world-roaming capabilities and has a faster processor than the Droid 2. The Android 2.2 smartphone can also be used as a mobile hot spot

Battery life could be better

The Motorola Droid 2 Global is a solid Android smartphone for globe-trotting executives looking for a BlackBerry alternative.

Motorola Droid 2 Review: Rebooting the Droid

The launch of the first Motorola Droid was a watershed moment for the Android platform and Motorola alike. The original Droid's masculine and modern industrial design showed the world that the nearly-finished handset maker hadn't lost the ability to...

Motorola Droid 2

When the second generation of a product is unveiled, you expect major upgrades from the first model. Motorola takes a different approach with the Droid 2, the follow-up to last year's ground-breaking Droid, both from Verizon. Rather than a fanboy's...

Bright, colorful, glossy 3.7 LCD screen ; Slide-out horizontal QWERTY ; Google Android OS v2.2 ; 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash ; 3G mobile hot spot ; 8GB built-in memory; 8GB card pre-installed ; Long battery life

Sluggish physical keyboard ; VGA video recording ; Fewer features than Droid X, same price

Motorola’s Droid 2 takes only baby steps forward from the original, struggling to keep up with new titans like the Droid X.

Motorola Nails Smart Sequel With Droid 2

The Motorola Droid 2 makes some modest improvements in hardware and software to make for a (mostly) winning follow-up to the original.

High call clarity and great reception mean you can actually use it as a phone. Sound output is loud enough to play music for friends. Lightning-fast internet browsing. Slide-out keypad is spacious and easy to use

Would have to start wearing cargo pants to be able to put it in our pockets. Fairly difficult to navigate at first. Picture and video quality are okay, but nothing we'd really want to upload to Facebook

Motorola Droid 2

Ships with latest version of Android ; Improved design

Motoblur detracts from a few native Android apps ; Camera is mediocre

The Droid 2 is a big improvement over its predecessor, but if you take a lot of pictures with your smartphone, you might want to opt for another Droid.

Motorola Droid 2

A sleeker design, more comfortable keyboard, and mobile hotspot functionality make this Android 2.2 phone a pretty strong sequel.

The Droid 2 is a very good sequel, boasting slicker design with a more comfy keyboard, a speedy processor, and a highly functional version of Android 2.2 (with Motorola's custom widgets). However, this phone also has some drawbacks, including buggy...

Motorola Droid 2 (Verizon Wireless)

The Motorola Droid 2 sports a sleeker look and an improved keyboard. The smartphone also features a faster processor, double the RAM of the original Droid, and ships with Android 2.2.

The Droid 2 doesn't have a front-facing camera and Android 2.2's new camera interface. It lacks HDMI port. Though the keyboard is better, keys are a bit stiff to press.

The Motorola Droid 2 offers a number of improvements that make it a worthy upgrade from the Droid and certainly a top choice for those who want a smartphone with a physical keyboard.

Motorola Droid 2 Global (Verizon Wireless)

The Droid 2 Global connects to Verizon's CDMA EVDO Rev A network here in the States and to CDMA, GSM or HSPA 900/2100 networks abroad. (No, the GSM side doesn't work on AT&T or T-Mobile—only foreign networks.) It also has Wi-Fi 802/11 b/g/n. Basically,...

Global capability. Good keyboard. Fast processor. Long battery life

Muddy voice quality

The Motorola Droid 2 Global is the top business smartphone for Verizon Wireless subscribers.
