Droid Turbo 2 review: What it lacks in style, it makes up for in power

Verizon's line of Droid phones just celebrated its sixth birthday, and what better way to celebrate than by releasing the best device to ever bear the Droid tit...

Durable screen ; Fast performance ; Solid, if overstated, battery life ; Useful software additions

Camera is hit or miss ; Expensive for what it is ; Slightly dim, oversaturated display ; Loads of Verizon bloatware

It's not hard to look at the Droid Turbo 2 as an upgraded version of the Moto X Pure, with its more powerful components, big battery and shatterproof screen. This all sounds great, and it is... until you discover that the battery life isn't always as...

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 (32GB, Black Soft Grip)

I don't think I can overemphasize this point: the screen doesn't shatter . It doesn't matter whether you drop it on an edge, a corner, or face-first into the pavement. You can step on it. Run over it with a vehicle. (Yes, we actually did that! You can...

The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 has a tough screen that won't crack. Plus, it has top-tier performance, solid battery life and the ability to design your own phone at Motorola's website.

The Turbo 2's camera lags behind the best you can buy, and the shatterproof screen comes with some trade-offs. In the US, it's exclusive to Verizon.

The Verizon-exclusive Droid Turbo 2 delivers on its promise of an uncrackable screen -- and it's a great all-around Android phone, too.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 review:

I've never broken a phone by dropping it. Dings and dents, sure--but I've never experienced that sickening crunch. I've never screamed in frustration at the earth's gravitational pull, and my clumsy hands, for turning a gorgeous touchscreen display...

Motorola Droid Turbo 2

We want our gadgets to be beautiful. Maybe it started with the phonograph, the princess phone, Braun radios, or the iMac. Who knows? But now it's hard-coded into our brains: We want our gadgets to be beautiful. Tech capabilities advance, miracles...

ShatterShield' screen will not crack, no matter how many times you drop it. The battery charges very fast and lasts for two days. Big, sharp display. Expandable storage. Features and performance are competitive with any flagship smartphone....

The wide bezels and Verizon logo on the front are hella gauche. It's a Verizon exclusive, which means there's tons of bloatware. Runs ye olde Android Lollipop. No fingerprint reader, if you're into that sort of thing

But for now, the Droid Turbo 2 is a singular, carrier-exclusive phone that knows exactly who it’s made for: The pragmatists; the people who know they’re bound to drop their handset from time to time and will forget their charger occasionally. Beyond...

Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo 2 [Review]

Last year Motorola introduced us to the Droid Turbo which like this device is a carrier exclusive only to Verizon. It can be dubbed as probably one of the best carrier Motorola devices you'd see around and its style was a hit or miss depending on which...

I been have been using the DROID Turbo 2 for the past month and as its specs read on paper its a worthwhile device. It runs smooth, really no hiccups and has expandable memory. Its Shatterproof display is great for those that damage their screens a...

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 review

Motorola's annual partnership with Verizon introduced a Moto X with a screen you'll have a hard time breaking and a massive battery, but some usability was sacrificed in the process.

Ridiculous battery life ; Motorola's features are still the best ; Shatterproof screen is shatterproof

Little on the thick side ; Camera is inconsistent ; Launching with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

While we are usually quick to dismiss a carrier exclusive, the Droid line still exists on Verizon because it works. There's an audience that loves this line of phones because of what they bring to the table. They are serious phones for serious people,...

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Review: Unbreakable and Unbeatable

A busted display and lousy battery will ruin a smartphone. Motorola claims it has an answer to that with the Droid Turbo 2, featuring a shatter-proof display and 2-day battery.

ShatterShield is awesome! ; Great battery life, fast charging ; Good performance ; MicroSD card slot ; Decent speaker

Display quality a bit drab ; Camera good, but others are much better ; Too much Verizon bloatware

The 32GB Motoroal Droid Turbo 2 starts at $624, while a 32GB Moto X Pure Edition starts at $449. For the extra $175, you get ShatterShield, approximately double the battery life, a slightly more powerful processor, and a ton of Verizon bloatware.

"ok, but not user friendly enough"

This phone has very good potential, and I was getting to like it the first week, then all of a sudden the screen went black and unresponsive. This is unequivocally a deal breaker. I have no patients for this kind of failure. If not for that, I would...
