Moto G6 Plus review

With a dual-lens camera, attractive design, and tempting price the Moto G6 Plus demands attention.

Good dual-lens camera ; Affordable ; Fast-charging ; Decent display ; Modern design

Sluggish at times ; Bloatware included ; Not available in the U.S.

The Moto G6 Plus is an excellent budget smartphone and we’re struggling to point to anything better at this price. It looks good, performs well, and offers some features you simply don’t expect to find in a budget phone.

Moto G6 Plus review: A lot of handset for a competitive price

Motorola's 2018 iteration of its budget smartphone range comprises a trio of handsets -- the Moto G6 (£219), Moto G6 Play (£169) and Moto G6 Plus (£269), reviewed here. All three have their particular selling points: the G6 sports some impressive...

Surprisingly good dual rear camera system ; High-quality industrial design ; MicroSD card slot

Awkward fingerprint sensor location ; Battery life could be better

Moto G6 Plus

Moto G6 Plus review, price, release date and features: Is the high-end Moto G6 the one to pick? Or are you better off saving some cash.

Great build quality ; Crisp and bright FHD+ screen ; Welcome software customisation and experience ; Swift fingerprint scanner ; Great battery life

Camera is a little slow ; Not water-resistant

That marginally bigger size than the G6 means there’s a little extra room for a bigger battery – 3200mAh to the G6′ 3000mAh. Considering there aren’t any extra pixels to power, the battery life here is even more stellar.

Moto G6 Plus review

An A+ budget phone catching up fast with the mid-range giants

Great design ; Fast, smooth performance ; Good battery life ; Excellent value

Camera a touch slow ; Screen could be bigger

Superb both on paper and in use, the Moto G6 Plus really raises the bar when it comes to what we think of as a budget phone.

Motorola Moto G6 Plus review: A big deal?

The best of the G series trio, the Plus offers all you could want: there's a dual camera, fast-charging, an 18:9 aspect ratio screen, modern glass

Premium look refreshes the series ; The most powerful G series performs best of all ; Solid battery life innings ; MicroSD card slot expandable ; Fingerprint scanner works well

Similar competitors are cheaper (Nokia 6) or offer more power (Honor 9) ; Screen barely larger than G6 ; Confusing proposition of three handsets (Play and Plus)

The Motorola Moto G6 Plus is the best of the G series, representing a considerable shift for the series and push towards premium.

Motorola Moto G6 Plus review: Is bigger better?

Like the Moto G6, the G6 Plus is one hell of a handset – but is it worth the extra £50?
