Motorola MOTOFONE F3

Motorola has been making phones in a reverse order of sorts lately: they had their uber-expensive, fashion-conscious RAZR V3 (Rs. 30,000 at one point in time), followed by the mid-level SLVR series, and most recently, the cheap, budget-conscious FLIP...

In the end, I have mixed feelings about the SCPL-based MOTOFONE F3. I like the way it looks, the display technology, the audio quality, network performance and of course, the price of the phone. However, I’m not sure about the way the display has been...

Motorola MOTOFONE F3 review: Budget wonder

Motorola Fone F3 or Motofone is a unique mobile device. It unites the latest modern trends, on one hand, and a very basic functional menu, on the other.

modern slim design ; good keypad ; solid construction ; high contrast display with large font ; long lasting battery ; voice help ; alarm clock ; very basic functions ; extremely low price

segmented display – only six letters in line ; certain characters and symbols are difficult to read ; does not make difference between upper and lower case letters ; some basic characters are not possible to type ; uneven backlighting of the display...

Backlighting is of worse quality. It is heavily uneven, being the strongest under the lowest key line. The rest of the keypad is illuminated in dazed white. When the phone is moved, one can see how fast backlighting twinkles. However, this does not...

Motorola F3 Cell Phone

I was looking for a cheap basic phone with good voice quality. This phone meets my requirements completely. You can not, obviously, expect lot from a phone at this price; but, I wish if the display were little more attractive. The fonts look too big on...

Good voice quality, Low price

Odd display, limited features

Motorola F3 Cell Phone

If you are on the tight budget and need the phone for calls only to 2-3 people numbers of which you keep in your mind ? that is you best match. However, get used to the monochromic screen and large-font number (i guess ok if you lose your glasses :)If...

price ; battery life ; good quality calls ; looks slim

monotonic screen ; large numbers ; luck of features ; phone book holds limited # of numbers

Motorola F3 Cell Phone

This phone is difficult to use and has extremely poor functionality. The SMS messages are diffcult to read with a mixture of uPPer CaSE anD loWeR CaSe LeTTerInG. Single words and phone numbers cannot be read on the screen - you need to scroll to read...

There are no strengths that I could ascertain.

This phone is diffcult to use and not user friendly at all.

Motorola F3 Cell Phone

This cheap phone is only good as a phone. Use it to make calls, and that's about it. No camera, mp3, or other fancy functions. That's why its cheap. The e-ink display (replacing LCD in most other cellphones) has pros and cons. Pros is that it uses very...

UNLOCKED! Super long battery life. E-ink display can be seen clearly in bright sunlight.

E-ink display too low resolution. Difficult to text.

Dead Simple

I picked this up and use it with an international sim (pay as you go) on Rogers in Canada. I needed an alternative cell for family use only and it works well.

Dead simple. Works well on Rogers in Canada

I didn't get an English manual in the box just a quick refferance sheet, however phone was simple so this wasn't an issue. Battery indicator is not accurate you must charge it overnight to get a full charge even after first use

Barebones speakerphone

Worth $25

Got this to get away from the radiation of my old Pantech c3b. Sufficient for my needs ; Don't expect your expectations to be exceeded. A basic phone. Really basic

Poor battery life for a modern device

Motorola F3 Review by eXpert!

Cool design, fit in shirt pocket so easily,| nice back-lit and super thin too - it Is an eye please and fun to use as well. Pity about SEEMING to be unable to get Call.Waiting to work

Motorola F3 Review by eXpert ; I got it purely to check out the LIQUID PAPER DISPLAY that stays alive even without a battery in, as it uses almsot no juice - it was true ; This simple Phone has a lot going for it ; ring tones, Vibration, Voice prompts,...

It real world testing lent to day & night non-stop user ; we discovered only one draw back for this phone ; it seems not to have call waiting ; Anyone else notice this
