Another Android 1.6 device for consideration, the entry-level Motorola QUENCH XT3 is a lightweight smartphone worthy of your attention: a mere 12.6mm thick, and weighing at only 114 grams, the phone also comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touch...

Motorola Quench XT3

The Motorola Quench XT3 is yet another mid range offering form Motorola for us Android lovers. Boasting a 3.2 inch touchscreen, and a 600 Mhz processor, it's definitely not a clouch. It's a good beginner phone for someone who has never owned a...

Very pleased with this phone and would recommend it. If there was one drawback I would have to say if you have big fingers you may need some patience with the onscreen keyboard

Fast cheap modern phone

Interesting phone. It was released under several different names: Apanda A60, Chinavision Excalibur, Cincinnati Bell Blaze, Gigabyte Gsmart G1305, Motorola XT502, Muchtel A1, Nexian Journey, Optimus Boston, Orange Boston, Spice Mi-300, Vibo A688 and...

Easy to root and install custom Android firmware (say, cyanogen mod). So you won't depend on Motorola on software updates. It is fast enough to run any expected Android application. Good video processor. Also relatively cheap

No stable Android 2.2 Firmware as of beginning of December 2010. It should be out soon though. I am running unstable Android 2.2 (cyanogen mod) with minor and rare troubles

Choppy touchscreen experience; laggy performance

While running Android 1.6 is a bummer for some, the Quench XT3 does bring a decent set of features and a handsome design to the table for an entry-level smartphone. Its Achilles' heel is the choppy touchscreen, which wrecked our entire user experience....
