Motorola ROKR E8

I've been waiting for the ROKR E8 ever since I first saw it at the Motorola Developers' Conference in Bangalore a couple of months ago, and for good reason! Clearly Motorola's got an eye for good design, and also a strong research team in place to...

When the screen is off, you will notice tiny dot-sized ridges all over the face of the phone. Since the face is flat, there are no visible buttons; they all light up only when in use. This is where the morphing technology comes into play – it lights up...

Motorola Motorola Rokr E8

The Rokr E8 excels at music playback, but usability issues plague it in other areas.

Slim, changes virtual interface at touch ; First-rate music player with Song ID app

Touch controls aren't always responsive ; Not great for messaging or email

Music playback excels, but in other areas, usability issues plague the Rokr E8.

If you have little interest in the Web on your mobile then the E8 is for you. It looks great and features a decent music player and camera. For the RRP of AU$450 including a bundled speaker kit, the E8 is a very sexy bargain.

Slim and sexy design, ModeShift keypad works a treat, 2GB of internal memory, 3.5mm headphone port

Super sluggish menu, No 3G or Wi-Fi

'Motorola Rokr E8: Stylisches Handy f\xfcr MP3-Fans'

'Das E8 sieht stark aus, hat viele technische Gimmicks wie die drucksensitive Tastatur mit haptischer R\xfcckmeldung, eine Menge Speicher und alles, was ein MP3-Handy noch so braucht. Ob das Handy in der Praxis h\xe4lt, was das Datenblatt verspricht,...

This pricey but innovative music phone breaks the mold with its morphing design.

Beautiful and solid design, Keypad morphs to correspond with applications, Good music-playback quality, CrystalTalk technology cuts down on background noise

Awkward arc-shaped scroll wheel, Poor Web browser, Interface feels sluggish at times

When we turned on the phone, we were welcomed by the familiar T-Mobile home screen that features the five MyFaves icons, which you can designate as shortcuts for contacting friends and family. Inside the main menu are ten icons along the bottom of the...

Motorola Rokr E8 (T-Mobile)

The Motorola Rokr E8 has an attractive design with a brilliant display and an innovative keypad. Its music player is top-notch and it offers satisfying call quality and battery life.

The Motorola Rokr E8's navigation controls take acclimation and the phone is rather sluggish. It also lacks 3G, full e-mail, and wireless music downloads.

The Motorola Rokr E8 is a top choice for a T-Mobile music phone, if you can master the phone's novel, though slightly quirky, controls.

Motorola ROKR E8

In recent years, Motorola has become well known for building top-notch hardware but saddling it with uninspiring software. And the company proves true to form with the ROKR E8 for T-Mobile ($199.99 with contract). The new phone has a truly slick and...

Positively gorgeous. Excellent voice quality. Plenty of music options. Player works well

Expensive. Uninspiring feature set

The ROKR E8 represents a radical new design for Motorola, but the phone is too expensive and its software seems tired.

Motorola ROKR E8

The Motorola Rokr E8 is more than just a slick looking cell phone; it's also a chameleon of sorts changing its visible exterior to suit the feature being used. When using the Rokr E8 to make calls or send texts the black casing lights up to look like,...

Motorola ROKR E8 Cell Phone

is not the phone it was designed to be: a "phonepod"

The box itself is very conservative featuring the standard T-Mobile colors: red on white. In the front of the box you can see a picture of the phone while on back you back you have a list of the main features of the phone. After opening the box, the...

'Despite Motorola\x92s management issues and fiscal concerns, they certainly keep churning out quality phones. The Motorola ROKR E8 is a good one. A quick look at the ROKR E8 and you can see it has a specific music focus. It uses a virtual keypad that...
