T-Mobile Tap ( Huawei U7519)

The T-Mobile Tap has a comfortable and lightweight design, a music player, a 2-megapixel camera, an FM radio, and GPS. It has good call quality as well.

The T-Mobile Tap's small screen size results in a cramped virtual keyboard and a difficult browsing experience. The Web browser feels a little primitive as well.

If you can get past the limitations of the screen size, the T-Mobile Tap is a decent midrange touch-screen phone.

T-Mobile Tap

Stylish and slim design ; Good feature set for the price

Small, low-res display ; Touch interface is slow

The eye-catching T-Mobile Tap offers a solid set of multimedia features, but is hindered by a slow touch interface.

T-Mobile Sidekick Slide Test Report

Offsetting the compact, convenient design are a cramped keyboard and smaller screen (in comparison with the Sidekick LX).

Compact for a Sidekick ; One-handed slide design

Cramped keyboard

T-Mobile Sidekick Slide

Even with a slightly new form factor and features, T-Mobile's new Sidekick Slide will have a hard time keeping up with other sliders.

T-Mobile Sidekick Slide

Editors' note: After the initial release of the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide, T-Mobile and Motorola determined that some units had battery contact issues that caused the device to power off after opening and closing the phone. Motorola has since found a...

The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide features a slide-up screen and a more compact frame than previous models. The handheld continues to offer excellent messaging features as well as Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and a music player. It also works with...

The Slide's QWERTY keyboard is a bit stiff, and the camera doesn't record video. You need a microSD card to play music, and the expansion slot is located inconveniently behind the battery. Also, call quality could have been better.

With its slide-up screen, the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide offers a nice design alternative to the other Sidekick models. It's fine for first-time users but diehard Sidekick fans may prefer the more robust T-Mobile Sidekick LX.

T-Mobile SIdekick Slide

The differences are in this device's size and shape, and its screen. The Slide is considerably more compact than the LX or ID; at 4.5 by 2.44 by 0.69 inches, it's a good half-inch shorter. At 5.3 ounces, it's also lighter than its Sidekick siblings....

Smaller than other Sidekick models. Solidly built. Easy-to-use OS

Slippery, crammed keyboard. Subpar camera. Reception isn't great

The Slide is a stab at making the Sidekick smaller, but the device is doomed by a poor choice of keyboard buttons.

Review: T-Mobile Tap mobile phone

The inexpensive T-Mobile Tap is a stylish touch phone.

The compact Tap measures 4.2 by 2.2 by 0.5 inches thick and weighs a feather-light 3.7 ounces. Although the face of the phone is plastic, its backing is rubberized, and it feels very comfortable in the hand. Two hardware buttons (Talk, End) and a...

T-Mobile Sidekick Slide Scarlet released

Today T-Mobile released the new Sidekick Slide Scarlet, retailing at $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. This version retains the slide screen and QWERTY keyboard but manages to slim down the size of the design to 4.6 x 2.4 x .68 inches and...

Review: Sidekick Slide - Best Sidekick Since Original

Given a new color scheme and a slightly reduced size, it feels fun again. If the developers could do something about its poor e-mail and lack of Wi-Fi support, we'd be ready to rave about it

The Sidekick LX may offer a little more, but we prefer the slender good looks of the Slide. This is the future of the Sidekick brand: slimmer models, same great performance

Review: Sidekick Slide - Best Sidekick Since Original

The Slide's front offers a 2.5-inch, 320 x 240, 65,000 color screen, and is surrounded by the usual Sidekick controls. The left side offers a menu button and a button for returning to the main menu, with a directional pad between them; the right side...

The raised thumb-keyboard is easy to use for testing, but we were disappointed that the number keys aren't a different color, as with the LX. That makes dialing a little tedious
