Motorola MOTO W233 Renew

Going green, or making ecologically conscious purchases, is the newest trend. The MOTO Renew is one of the first, if not the first, major mobile phone to be made with recycled material – in this case, water bottles. It even comes with a pre-paid...

Excellent price; recycled and recyclable; simple to use; decent talk time

Basic functions; bad music player; unattractive looking

People looking to strip down their phones and live a more green life will be happy with the Renew.

Motorola Renew W233 (T-Mobile)

The story of T-Mobile'sMotorola Renew W233 lies not in what it offers--its features are quite minimal--but rather in what it is. Billed as the world's first carbon neutral cell phone, the Renew is made entirely of recycled water bottles (at least the...

The Motorola Renew W233 offers satisfying call quality in a simple, eco-friendly design

The Motorola Renew W233 has a low-resolution display and it offers few features. Also, it lacks a side-mounted volume rocker

Motorola MOTO W233 Renew (T-Mobile)

A small (4.4 by 1.8 by 0.6 inches, HWD; 2.9 ounces), cute, candy bar–style phone, the Renew features white, green, and black accents. The handset has a rather dim 1.6-inch, 128-by-128-pixel screen, and a standard keypad of stiff, plastic buttons....

Case is made of recycled materials. Inexpensive. Excellent voice quality

Dim screen. No Bluetooth or voice dialing. Poor media capabilities. No camera

The first U.S. cell phone made from recycled plastic, the MOTO W233 Renew doesn't have many features, but it is a solid (and green) voice-only handset choice.

What do water bottles and cell phones have in common?  The new Motorola Moto W233 Renew Mobile Phone!

The noise-cancelling works well on both handset and speakerphone. The speakers on the phone are crisp and clear and the the phone comes with an assortment of cheerful ringtones.  Also of note was the clear MP3 player.  When using the handset reception...

Review: Review of Motorola's Earth-friendly W233 Renew

The Motorola W233 Renew for T-Mobile USA is an environmentally friendly cell phone with great call audio and even a microSD card slot for music. Ricky takes it for a spin in this review.

I have had the W233 for about 4-5 months now and it is a crapy phone all around. You can't use any of the features microSD features if you own a mac, which I do.

Contains plastic from recycled water bottles ; Simple, stylish design ; Easy to use ; Packaging made from 100% recycled material ; First certified CarbonFree phone

Very limited features ; Only 25% of phone’s body is made from recycled plastic bottles

The phone may be cutting edge since it’s made from water bottles but it feels dated. It lacks many features. No Bluetooth, no GPS, no video player, no camera, no Wi-Fi. It feels old. But not everyone needs a phone packed with features. If you want a...

"Ummmm.... what the f is this???"

This is messed up. Why do I have to have a stupid phone like this. It does NOTHING. I would rather have no phone at all than this one. I recommend that you never buy this phone. The only thing that you can do is call and text. The buttons and the...
