Nokia 5130 XpressMusic review: Reporting for duty

At a certain point everyone finds themselves in the situation where all they need is a no-nonsense phone that looks good and doesn't cost a fortune. The Nokia 5130 is exactly the kind...

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; 2" 262K color TFT display of QVGA resolution ; Sleek body design and nice hoice of materials ; Ambient light sensor ; Hot-swappable microSD card slot up to 16GB (1GB card included)Music features ; Top notch audio...

Mediocre camera with no flash or auto focus, sluggish ; QCIF video recording (only good for MMS) ; No 3G ; No stereo loudspeakers ; No smart dialing ; No Java multi-tasking ; No office document viewer ; No Flight mode and no Active stand-by

After all, not everyone can afford an N97 nor does everyone need it. What everyone does need however is good performance from their handset, even more so if reliability can be offered at a low price point. So we felt a thorough review of the Nokia 5130...

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic (T-Mobile)

The Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is a solid music phone that's lightweight, feels durable, and is a genuine bargain, especially with T-Mobile's Even More Plus plans.

Slim and lightweight. Solid music playback. Standard-size headphone jack. Side-mounted microSD card slot.

Mediocre camera. No 3G.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions Nokia claims a 2GB maximum microSD card size, though my 16GB SanDisk card worked fine; there's also 30MB of internal memory. The 5130 displayed album art when available, and the side-mounted media controls light up...

Review Of The Nokia 5130 XpressMusic Cell Phone

The phonebook of the of the 5130 is dependent on its shared memory which is 30MB. Each contact can hold upto 6 phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays, notes, a formal name and a nick name. The basic features that this one has to offer are...

Good music player, decent functionality, good battery life

Speaker output not that great, keypad has a slippery plastic feel to it

This one is one of the low end phones being launched in the Express music category. It's simple in function and design but still has a lot to offer for the price. This could be your pick if you like to have your music on the move without burning a hole...

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic Review

Nokia's XpressMusic series adds another device to its portfolio, which targets young music lovers with not-so-high budgets. The new Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is one of the latest mass-market mobile phones and it offers a complete music solution to those...

The first things I would like to mention here are the nice finishes, the easy-to-handle music controls, excellent music sound, and good shiny plastic that improves the usual XpressMusic design. Also, one of the most important things, Nokia 5130...

I would've liked to see a more decent camera and the possibility to add a better memory card. Even though some higher-capacity cards might work with the device, it doesn't officially offer support for these. I also think that the short microUSB cable...

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic

If you're looking for a budget cell phone that delivers on today's basic needs and doubles as a music phone, the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic for T-Mobile might be for you.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic mobile phone

Nokia's latest mobile phone is bundled with the Comes With Music service but it lacks 3G connectivity

3.5mm headphone jack, funky design, FM radio, Comes With Music subscription included, loud speaker and excellent sound quality, included 1GB microSD card

No 3G, keypad is small and flat, OS is sluggish at times, can't charge via micro-USB port

The Nokia 5130 XpressMusic's lack of 3G connectivity will turn many users elsewhere, but if you plan to use your mobile phone as a music player and aren't interested in the mobile Web, then it's definitely worth a look.
