Nokia 6280 review: High-class slider

Nokia has created its new 6280 as a substitute for Nokia 6230i. Is this a successful move? Nokia 6280 is literally bulged with functions. On the other hand, it features quite an exotic slide-out construction, which provokes missunderstanding in the end...

Snapshot: Nokia 6280

Nokia finally seems to be taking 3G devices seriously. The new 6280 is a feature-packed handset with dual cameras, a miniSD memory card slot, and Bluetooth support. This hot slider handset should be available in time for Christmas this year.

Nokia 6280 Review

The Nokia 6280 is a 3G triband slider phone that has been on the market since late 2005. Although the Nokia 6280 isn't a smartphone, it's loaded with all the bells a whistles of a typical 3G smartphone.

Overall, the screen and cameras are superb. The design and functionality of the Nokia 6280 are also top notch. There's few 3G phones on the market that can compare to the 6280, I imagine the Nokia 6280 is one of the best 3G phones now available

Great screen, great control without sliding,

Number pad too close to upper section, not enough internal memory.

Nokia 6280

Nokia 6280 3G slide phone comes with a range of features that enable consumers to take full advantage of 3G multimedia opportunities. Equipped with both a 2-megapixel and a VGA camera.

Plenty of features easy to use nice screen ; Cons: Camera functions could be better

Camera functions could be better

Overall, the 6280 is a noteworthy phone (especially if you like slider designs) despite being a slight letdown in the camera department.

Nokia 6280 mobile phone - Pocket-lint

Nokia is rapidly getting to grips with this 3G malarkey, and this handset is possibly its best third-generation handset yet. The 6280 is a Series 40 mobile,

Good screen, friendly operating system

Chunky, and not everyone likes a slider

A solid phone that looks larger than some of the recent 3G offerings but is still a very decent handset.

Nokia 6280

3G Phones have long been a hit and miss affair. Unlike their 2.5G counterparts, 3G handsets are generally regarded as big, bulky and slow - amongst ma...

Design, Superb interface, User Friendly, Quality Display, Comfortable keypad and controls, Good list of features

Slider not well built, Issues with Camera quality, Pixilated animated menu icons

A fantastic entry into the 3G market, the 6280 offers a superb user interface, together with an outstanding display. Definitely one of the best 3G handsets available.

Nokia 6280

Nokia brings ease-of-use to 3G with the introduction of the 6280. Boasting a 2-megapixel camera, an MP3 player, video camera, and an updated interface, Nokia paves the way for those cautious of third-generation phones.

2-megapixel camera and VGA video capture ; 3G-enabled ; Very responsive; games load quickly ; Video and MP3 ringtones ; FM radio and media player ; Supports push-to-talk communication

Grainy photos ; Quite chunky ; Only 64MB memory card included

Battery-wise, we consistently got three full days use out of the 6280, but much less with frequent use of the radio and MP3 player.
