Nokia Asha 201 review

No 3G or Wi-Fi - can the Asha survive in today's world?

Good keyboard ; Very long battery life ; Nice Twitter and Facebook integration ; MicroSD card slot ; Solid build

No 3G ; No Wi-Fi ; Poor camera ; Slow processor ; Small, low resolution screen

Nokia has stuck its neck out in using the very old S40 operating system and foregoing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In the end we aren't sure it quite works for us. The slowish processor is a bind, and we'd have liked either Wi-Fi or 3G to make this handset...

Nokia Asha 201

Is the Nokia Asha 201 a budget BlackBerry or a Qwerty keyboard failure?

Decent keyboard layout ; Good chat functionality

Slow connectivity ; Laggy apps ; Keyboard not crisp enough

At present, the Asha 201 is available in black, white and pink in the UK. Nokia also makes green orange, blue and turquoise versions - but there's no word on these coming to the UK at present.

Nokia Asha 201 review

The Nokia Asha 201 is brimful of features, considering its teeny price. Sure, it won't win any speed awards, plodding along as it does with no 3G or Wi-Fi. But it will keep you connected to Facebook and email on a shoestring budget.

Very cheap ; Decent design for a budget blower ; Good social networking

Dated, sluggish interface ; Spongy buttons and keyboard ; No 3G or Wi-Fi

The Asha 201 costs very little yet packs in a lot. There are handsets with larger screens in this price bracket, but dumping a big display on underpowered hardware without any 3G is neither big nor clever.

Nokia Asha 201 Review: In Depth

"Excellent little phone with the majority of the essential features of a smartphone , but with a fast intuitive and simple operating system. While the systems web browser is slow, one can download and instal from Nokia store Opera Mini. (free). This...

Great price ; Solid feel ; Good battery life

Slow web services ; No Wi-Fi ; No flash on camera

If you want something that will give you a solid battery and do the basics then the Nokia Asha 201 is ideal - functional, inexpesnive, unfussy. Those who want a phone for checking Facebook or searching the web on the go should look elsewhere.

A Nokia Budget Offering : Nokia Asha 201 mobile phone

While touch screen smartphones take all the headlines, there is still a market for handsets with more basic feature sets.

If you are looking for a budget priced handset then Nokia would like you to consider its Asha 201 model. Rather than its new best, platform-providing, buddy, namely Microsoft with its Windows Mobile offering, Nokia has opted to go with its own Symbian...

Nokia Asha 201 review

We review the Nokia Asha 201, an S40 handset with a Qwerty keyboard which only costs £45

Lightweight, Attractive styling, Cheap

Operating system looks and feels a bit dated, No Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity

The Nokia Asha 201 is a cheap mobile that looks and feels better than some devices two or three times its price, but Series 40 is a bit long in the tooth. Unless you want a throwaway phone or care little for new technology, a budget Android device or...

Nokia Asha 201 review

Nokia has retired its unloved Symbian operating system forits mid- to high-end phones, setting its hopes on WindowsPhone for the future. But it's still using it for low-enderslike the Asha 201, a budget smart phone with a QWERTY keyboard, andat this...

Decent keyboard, budget price

Old Symbian OS, 2-megapixel camera, no 3G or Wi-Fi

The Nokia Asha 201 is very much a budget phone but still puts up agood show for itself thanks to its decent quality keyboard, sturdybuild and social networking functions. For keeping in touch on thego -- and at a very good price -- it does a decent...

Nokia Asha 201

The Nokia Asha 201 is the Finnish company's latest Series 40 phone designed and built for those that want the core features of a smartphone with minimum hassle. The Nokia Asha 201 is built with messaging and social networking in mind, and features a...

The Nokia Asha 201 is a nice little entry phone with a sexy design. It comes in a range of colours including green, pink, white and black. Each look gorgeous

The QWERTY keyboard is a nice thought and addition for messaging fans but unless you’ve got fingers the size of toothpicks, it feels clumsy to use. It isn’t sensitive enough, and feels too small to type on without making errors. One-handed texting...

The Nokia Asha 201 is a lovely little phone with some great features and looks, but its QWERTY keyboard isn’t the most comfortable, and the menu and navigation feel too clumsy to enjoy using it.

Nokia Asha 201 Qwerty phone

Review When Nokia announced its three new Asha budget phones in October they didn't attract much attention alongside the WinPho 7 handsets that were punted by the company at the same time.

If your main requirements are making voice calls and keeping on top of your e-mails and texts then the Asha 201 is an easy recommendation. The screen is sharp and bright, the keyboard nearly faultless and the new-look S40 interface a joy to behold. If...

Nokia Asha 201

The Nokia Asha 201 was announced at Nokia World 2011, as a basic Symbian S40 blower set to get emerging countries connected to the web. Much to our surprise, the Finns have decided to bring the handset to UK shores.

The Nokia Asha 201 may boast excellent social networking features and up to 32GB of onboard storage, but you mustn't forget that ultimately this is a basic handset. Although not ideal for budding-photographers and internet addicts, the phone is...
