Nokia Lumia 635 review

The Nokia Lumia 635 isn't the most attractive or powerful Windows Phone so far, but it's a good smartphone for those on a budget.

pullquote]Perhaps the saddest thing about the Lumia 635 is the complete lack of a front-facing camera.[/pullquote

Boring design ; Low-resolution screen ; No front-facing camera ; Poor battery life on LTE

The Nokia Lumia 635 may not have all the latest hardware or the most attractive design, but it certainly works well. It’s proof that smartphones don’t have to be all-powerful to get the job done. If you’re looking for a budget smartphone and don’t mind...

Nokia Lumia 635

The Nokia Lumia 635 offers a vivid display, responsive performance and long battery life at a wallet-pleasing price.

Very affordable; Sturdy and fairly lightweight design; Long battery life; Swift performance

Lacks front camera and rear-facing flash; Camera takes fuzzy washed out photos; Weak speaker

Thrifty, Yet Nifty

The Nokia Lumia 635 is among the first wave of handsets to launch with the latest update of Windows Phone 8.1 software out of the box. At only $130 or less, it's one of the best options for low-priced 4G phones.

Very accessible price for 4G LTE networking and a fresh OS. Windows Phone updated to include Cortana, better notifications, and tighter integration with Microsoft cloud services. Colorful interchangeable covers, solid body. Support for up to 128GB of...

Lacks a selfie camera, and rear-facing camera is not what you would expect from a Nokia. This is probably a phone more dedicated to social players than photo maniacs. Display is disappointing too

Nokia Lumia 635

The Nokia Lumia 630 earned itself some stars thanks to its affordable price and vibrant, fun interchangeable plastic back cases. It's 3G only however, which lost it a fair few points. Its twin brother, the Lumia 635 is identical in every respect to the...

The Nokia Lumia 635 has an affordable price, its interchangeable cases are colourful and attractive and it has 4G LTE.

Adding 4G LTE has meant the battery life has taken a hit, its screen resolution is unimpressive and its camera isn't really up to anything more than the odd Instagram snap.

With its fun design and cheap price, the Lumia 635 is a decent option to consider if you're after 4G LTE on a budget. It's only marginally more expensive than its near-identical 3G-only Lumia 630 sibling, so you should certainly opt for the 635. If you...

Nokia Lumia 635 Review

Brand new Windows Phones have been generally in short supply of late, so we bet that many of you folks are itching to know when they're coming. Well, the wait is no more here in the US, as the Nokia Lumia 635, a slight variant of the Lumia 630 that...

Aggressive, low pricing that makes it a bargain ; New Windows Phone 8.1 features enhances the experience ; Battery life is surprisingly long-lasting ; Excellent call quality

Camera is mediocre ; Performance hitches with gaming ; Low resolution screen shows visible pixilation

Fast and cheap

Windows Phone 8.1 is improvement ; Strong build quality ; 4G capable

No flash or front camera ; 4G price bump not such great value ; Screen lacks sharpness

The Nokia Lumia 635 is nigh-on identical to the Nokia Lumia 630, only with the addition of 4G connectivity. But the resultant bump up in price carries things in the wrong direction.

Nokia Lumia 635

One of the cheapest 4G phones landing this year

Half-decent autofocus camera ; Has 4G

Screen not terribly sharp ; No front camera or flash ; Pricing not quite aggressive enough

For now, though, this is the cheapest 4G Windows phone you can get, short of seeking out a second-hand bargain. As the most important UK 4G bands are supported by the Lumia 635, you’ll be able to pick any 4G network here too.

Nokia Lumia 635 review

Following hot on the heels of the Lumia 630 we have yet anotherDay-Glo coloured budget phone from Nokia. The Lumia 635 adds 4G toa decent device and range of extras from Nokia and Microsoft.

Decent processor, acceptable camera, Nokia and Windows extras, expandable memory, 4G

Screen could be better, Windows Store still a bit lean

The Nokia Lumia 635 is a solidly built workhorse of a phone thatmay not have an HD screen like the similarly priced Moto G, but does its bit to make up for it with extras likeMicrosoft Office and free online storage, as well as Nokia's musicand sat-nav...

Nokia Lumia 635

Nokia's currently on a Windows Phone 8.1 roll, unleashing the budget-friendly Lumia 630 back in May, but now the Microsoft-owned company is back again with a updated version of the same handset, the Lumia 635. While on the outset, the £139 handset...

The Nokia Lumia 635 is a slight update to an already well-rounded budget blower that brings 4G powers to the table and a slicker, glossy body too. Even though Windows 8.1 packs in many features we've been craving for ages, it's still playing catch-up...
