Nokia Lumia 930

If you're tired of seeing all those Samsung Galaxy phones and iPhones in everyone's hands and fancy something different -- a little more colourful maybe -- cast your eyes over Nokia's latest flagship. The Lumia 930 has a slick metal band running around...

The Nokia Lumia 930 has a crisp, bold display that makes Netflix shows look great, its camera is up there with the best and its metal and colourful plastic body will turn at least a few heads.

Its battery life doesn't impress, it's quite a chunky beast, Windows Phone 8.1 doesn't come with the Cortana voice assistant outside of the US and the platform still suffers from a mediocre app selection.

With its great display, brilliant camera and attractive, colourful design, the Nokia Lumia 930 has most of what you'd expect from a top-end Windows Phone device. It's battery lets it down though and with an unimpressive selection of apps still...

Nokia Lumia 930

With a vivid, 5-inch, full-HD display; 20-MP camera; and a fast processor, the Nokia Lumia 930 is a powerful Windows Phone 8.1 device.

Vivid display; Fast performance; Comprehensive camera apps

Poor audio quality; Heavy

Nokia Lumia 930 review: like the Icon, but better

Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia is now bearing fruit, but as often happens when big companies merge, there aren't enough jobs to go around. More than

Top specs with strong performance to match ; Excellent display ; Fantastic camera ; Good battery life

Lacking in standout design features ; Premium price

The Lumia 930 is arguably the best Windows Phone on the market, with a brilliant camera and top-end specs. It's also an improvement over the US version, the Lumia Icon, thanks to broader LTE band support and a free wireless charger in the box.

Nokia Lumia 930 Review

Nokia Lumia 930 has most that is needed to take the Android flagships head-on, like a large 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, and a 20 MP main camera, coupled with first-in-class Dolby surround sound...

Nice display with very good outdoor visibility ; Fluid and stable video footage with 3x lossless zoom ; Great soundtrack quality for videos ; Excellent call quality

Somewhat chunky ; Photos often have inaccurate colors ; Cumbersome nano SIM card format

We found the Nokia Lumia 930 to be an excellent Windows Phone device. Perhaps the biggest virtue of the 930 is that it finally packs Nokia's PureView camera goodness into a fairly compact and manageable format, coming with solid premium build but...

Nokia Lumia 930 review

Since Microsoft acquired Nokia's phone hardware business there's been some confusion about where things go from here. Take the Lumia 930, the top-spec Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone that we've been reviewing for the last few days: Microsoft has left the...

Great screen colour and brightness, decent camera, solid build quality, Windows Phone 8.1 most compelling it's ever been

Bit on the chunky side, top gaming apps lack, camera exposures can be off, Windows Phone 8.1 still has some catch-up to do

A colourful handset that battles against Windows Phone

Good full HD display ; Aluminium frame ; Home-grown apps will improve

Interface still grates ; Older CPU ; Apps still need improvement

The Nokia Lumia 930 is the best Windows Phone yet – you'll probably read that across the web. But that's like saying it's the best seaplane: you'll really need some elements of it from time to time, and you'll be able to use it, but really you want...

Microsoft and Nokia have delivered the best Windows Phone yet

Superb PureView camera Beautiful OLED screen Super solid build

Windows Phone still app-deficient

Great camera and wonderful screen – it’s the best Windows Phone yet

Nokia Lumia 930 review

If you didn't know, Microsoft now owns Nokia and is putting all its focus on the Windows Phone platform – no more Android-powered Nokia X devices. Windows Phone 8.1 has now arrived and flying the flag at the top-end is the Lumia 930.

The Lumia 930 is a step in the right direction with its semi-metal design and decent hardware line-up. We like the screen and camera but it's lacking additional features and doesn't have expandable storage. Windows Phone 8.1 vastly improves things on...

Nokia delivers its best Windows Phone yet

Bright, well-built design ; Camera good in low light ; Good collection of Nokia apps

Average battery life ; Uncomfortable square design ; Comparative lack of apps and games ; No HDR camera mode

If we are being really picky, the display doesn’t quite match the LG G3 or the Samsung Galaxy S5. The Quad HD screen on the G3 has a ludicrously sharp 534 ppi spread across a larger 5.5-inch screen, while the work Samsung has done fine-tuning the S5’s...

Nokia Lumia 930 hands-on review

The Lumia 930 is the firm's latest flagship smartphone and will go up against plenty of high profile handsets including the Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z2 and iPhone 5s. Here's our Nokia Lumia 930 hands-on review.

The Lumia 930 with Windows Phone 8.1 is a step in the right direction with its semi-metal design and decent hardware line-up. However, it's up against touch competition and the thriving iOS and Android app stores. Look out for a full review soon.
