Orange Monte Carlo review

Can Orange's new low-cost Android handset match the San Francisco?

Large screen ; Capable processor ; Good media streaming ; Good battery life

Screen hard to see in bright sunlight ; Low resolution video recording ; No Flash support ; MicroSD card fiddly to get at ; No bundled headphones

When Orange released its San Francisco, we were bowled over. It was a great handset for a budget price, and it continues to be the standard by which we evaluate any Android phone that hovers around the £100 mark.

A great screen belies this handset's low price - poor battery life aside, it's an impressive budget handset

ZTE Skate Review: In Depth

Decent screen ; Improved build quality over Blade/San Francisco

Expensive ; Sluggish performance ; Poor battery life

The Orange Monte Carlo is not a phone for playing games or watching video, trick call technology, slick UI and decent battery life it is worth every penny of its asking price. Yes I'd like more system storage, a glass screen and a Cortex CPU but that...

Orange Monte Carlo review: Diddly price, massive phone

The Orange Monte Carlo – also known as the ZTE Skate – has been on our radar ever since Mobile World Congress in February. As the follow up to the spectacular Orange San Francisco, 2010′s bargain bin phone of the year, we were expecting great things at...

150 for a 4.3-inch screen. Wow

Orange spamware

A fantastic bargain, although the large screen size can't but help create expectations it can't live up to
