Orange Rio 2 review

The Orange Rio II has its failings, but the positives just about outweigh the negatives. 3G data, a full Qwerty keyboard and a startlingly low price make this ideal for budget buyers who want a BlackBerry-style experience.

Low price ; Great keyboard ; 3G

Touchscreen is of old resistive type ; Battery life is poor ; Slow processor

The Rio II improves over its predecessor with a neater design, 3G and an updated operating system. Issues such as poor battery life, no Wi-Fi, unresponsive touchscreen and a generally slow processor take the edge off its performance, but you have to...

Orange Rio (ZTE-G X991)

Orange's latest own branded messaging phone costs just £55, but does it deliver the goods?

Sturdy design, Impressive keyboard, Good call quality

Slow browser, No Wi-Fi or 3G support, Doesn't support push email

Orange Rio review

The Orange Rio has its flaws, but not many serious ones given its price. The keyboard is great, the menus are intuitive and easy to navigate, and the touchscreen isn't bad either. For £55 on a pay-as-you-go deal, it's tough to beat

Very cheap ; Good keyboard ; Decent touchscreen ; Intuitive menu system

Some features are poorly implemented ; Dull display

If you happen to be checking out the Rio because it's very cheap, you might want to take a look at the extremely basic Tesco VX1 Party Phone, which is available for only £9.49. On the other hand, if you have a little extra to spend and like the Rio's...

Editor's Review of the Rio 2

The Orange Rio II sports a 2.4-inch touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad, making it a great cut-price alternative to the BlackBerry Bold 9900

Orange Rio 2

i had this phone about 2 years ago and I loved it. it has quite a good camera and video. the thing that I hate even now is if you by songs on orange for your phone when it gets old and you don't want that song you cant delete it which is really annoying.

its lightweight and small enough to fit in a pocket

it doesn't hold a lot of battery

Orange Rio 2

I have owned this phone for 2 years in October. It was great for the first month until a few keys fell off and the battery life got worse and worse. Recommended for a first phone but not after.

Keyboard locks , low cost, easily mistaken for a blackberry

Keys fall off easily, expensive apps, bad touchscreen, poor battery life, poor touchscreen,

Orange Rio 2

The internet is slow, when you take a video and want to watch it later on the scanning takes really long around 7-8 minutes, when taking pictures it doesn't capture it properly the camera moves, no apps or anything, no Wi-fi which is the worst out of...

It gives you free 500 texts and Internet

No apps and extremely slow!
