Treo 700wx launches on Sprint

No shocker here: Sprint officially launched the Treo 700wx today. The specs haven't been a secret for a while, but we'll run 'em down for you anyway: Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC (duh) XScale 312MHz CPU SDIO slot 128MB NVRAM (60MB user) dual-band EV-DO...

Palm CEO sez no Symbian Treo

We're pretty sure they've built at least one Symbian-powered Treo just to prove it could be done, but in an interview with Computer Business Review Palm CEO Ed Colligan said that they're definitely not going to be selling one anytime soon. Why? Well,...

Palm Treo 700WX Smart Phone

In late 2006, Palm's Treo 700w received a quiet upgrade to the 700wx, which has the same design and runs the same OS but contains enhancements under the hood. Most notable is the RAM upgrade: With 48MB after a hard reset, the 700wx (available on the...

Includes a fantastic music player Camera takes impressive shots

Talk-time battery life is poor Keys are stiff and too close together

At $500 (with a two-year contract from Sprint), the 700wx carries the same price as the 700w from Verizon. Of the two, I definitely prefer the 700wx

Palm Treo 700wx

The 700wx is a small upgrade to the 700w, but it's neither as easy to use as the Treo 700p nor as powerful as other competing Windows Mobile devices.

More memory than Treo 700w. Easy to dial the phone and use in one hand.

Low-res, cramped screen. Expensive. Some software instability.

Palm Treo 700 review: Palm Treo 700

You can stop squinting at all the blurry camera phone pictures and cease swapping stories about what a carrier rep told you in confidence, for the Palm Treo 700p is finally here. And though the new Palm OS-based smart phone was announced for both...

The Palm Treo 700p boasts EV-DO support, a 1.3-megapixel camera, increased memory, a sharp display, and Bluetooth 1.2. The smart phone can also be used as a wireless modem and has solid call quality.

The Palm Treo 700p lacks integrated Wi-Fi and runs the stale Palm OS 5.4.9. Also, Sprint has no plans to offer a cameraless version at this time.

With EV-DO support, increased memory, and enhanced multimedia capabilities, the Palm Treo 700p makes a powerful smart phone even better. Sure, it's not perfect, but the solid performance and new features make it worth the upgrade.

Treo 700W PDA Phone

Verizon's Treo 700w brings together Palm's hardware and Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5 operating system for the first time ever--and while Palm purists may cringe, the merger is largely successful.

Plenty of accessbile memory Works well as a phone

Keys can be difficult to use for typing poor talk-time battery life

Will the Treo 700w sway Palm-lovers to the Microsoft side? Probably not; but for on-the-go professionals who are comfortable with Windows Mobile, the 700w and its high-speed connection should prove tempting

A Palm That Does Windows: The Treo 700w

Designed to run the Windows Mobile OS, Palm's new Treo 700w Smartphone does a fine job of everything except e-mail.

Palm Treo 700w

The Treo 700w, Palm's first Pocket PC phone, retains the line's attractive form factor, but it's not the big leap forward we expected.

Excellent one-handed dialing and contacts. Zippy EV-DO speeds. Good phone reception.

Small screen. Shortage of RAM causes crashes. Can't use as PC modem.

Palm Treo 700w Smartphone

The 700w from Palm packs a lot into it's small frame. This smartphone runs on the feature-rich Windows Mobile 5.0, includes a 1.3MP camera, good battery life and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Colorful ; Email on the go, and in real-time ; Works with Exchange ; Quality build ; Decent battery life ; Certainly a drool worthy gadget

QWERTY keyboard is difficult to get used for those without hands like a child ; Picture cams on phones are all by worthless to this editor

The camera does as it should. It takes pictures on par with most other camera phones available today. 1.3MP isn’t anything to really brag about but it does provide pictures clear enough to add to a phone book or a contact. I personally feel that...
